My aversion to universal background checks is due to the fact that they would have done nothing to prevent the two high profile mass shootings last year. So I see them as an another tool that our corrupt govt will use to prevent law abiding citizens from owning firearms, thereby increasing their...
Thanks. I was reading about FOPA, but was getting hung up on the gun being legal in each state it passed through. I'll check out the websites.
Best Regards

An acquaintance of mine is driving from MI to CO to go Elk hunting, and he would like to bring his revolver. So this brings up two questions. 1) what legal considerations should he be aware of? As far as I know he does not have a CHL in MI. The gun will be unloaded and in an locked case. 2) Once...
I saw a 92 slide for sale in the forum, and it got me wondering. I have a 96 that I like quite a bit and have been wanting a 92. Can I simply buy a complete 92 slide (and mags) and be good to go? Are there any legal ramifications?

I don't think Fishslayer's comment was meant to be all that serious. There are pro's and con's to any design. My opinion is that no American gun collection is complete without a 1911. Unfortunately, there are few of us that are collectors, especially when just getting started.
I bought a mini tuck for my PM9. It is a good iwb holster, and I have been extremely happy with it. At the time, CB was about the only one making this kind of holster. I would have to give the Parker holsters a good look if I were buying now
HI, I recently bought a S&W 5906 from a dealer on the internet. I have never done this before, but I have bought several guns from a lgs here in the Denver, CO area. The internet vendor had their FFL on file and suggested that I do the transfer through them. I contacted the lgs today and...
My wife's grandfather recently passed away. It turns out that I have the only gun safe in the family, so all of his guns have been temporarily given to me while the grandmother decides what to do with them. I have made an offer to pay her a fair value for them, so that they stay in the family...
can someone point me in the direction of a resource for checking the serial for mfg date? Also, is there any reason that I could not use my other uppers on this colt lower? I have a dpms upper a stag upper and a stag lower that I use with both the stag and the dpms.
a little more info
The model is an SP1, with a Colt branded 3X20 scope. Any idea who made the colt scopes? Colt? The serial number is SP34465, which seems high to be a late 60's vintage...more like mid 70's maybe. The condition is impressive...it has not been shot much, and the owner has...
Good Morning,
I have an oportunity to purchase a 1968 colt ar-15 w/ 3 30 rd mags and a colt branded scope mounted on the carry handle. The seller is an older fella who does not shoot any more. His wife is an anti and told him that she would turn all of his guns in when he passed. Anyway...
PM9 update
got it home last night, cleaned it and cycled the action with snap caps. One bonus is that the previous owner installed XS 24/7 sights on it. They seem to be better than the factory night sights. Another bonus is that the gun is much smoother than the factory new versions that I...
Like the title says...I am going to pick up a new to me Kahr PM9. I am pretty excited as I have been waiting for a while. I wanted the black slide version with the night sights. So, I was just curious if anyone carries one of these regularly and if so, what holster do you use?
Thanks...

A friend of mine acquired a pretty beat up colt 1911 and would like to know the aproximate mfg date and an idea of the value. Unfortunately the serial number and model info was removed from the right side of the slide. What we know is that it is the GI pattern, nickle plated, and the info on...
All:
Did a little gun shop drooling today and have a couple of questions. By way of background, I have been looking for a small single stack 380 or 9mm for ccw. I have a Ruger sp101, and a Bersa 380 that I can carry if I can wear a jacket or overshirt, but summer is a different story.
So...
