It's extremely hard to find good deals in pawn shops these days. I guess that's one draw back of them easily being able to check going prices on websites like gunbroker and armslist. You almost have to visit them everyday (or get lucky) to catch the occasional good deal.
Yeah, I think it's one of the sexiest pistols I've seen, even prettier than the photos of it I used to drool over. Maybe not as sexy as my CZ 97B but pretty darn close. I like it a lot.
The gunsmithing thing does have me a bit riled, especially because it was supposed to be an anniversary gift for my wife, but I've managed to remain calm about the really bad customer service. He won't be getting any more business from me especially because I was supposed to have it back today...
I was having kind of a bad day today. I've had a pistol at a local smith's shop now for seven weeks for what was supposed to be a two week job. He called me to come get the pistol as it was finally ready. I showed up to find out what I had asked to be done to the pistol was actually not done. So...
From the forum post that Elkins45 linked to, I read this:
"All the guns with the monte carlo straight grip stocks were either roll stamped "444" or "444T" and the ones with "444T" were only made in 1971 and 1972 ."
Thanks for all the info and comments. Here are some detailed photos of the gun. I measured the barrel, it's officially 16.25" long. It feels like there's been trigger work done, it's smooth and crisp and breaks right around 5lbs. The gun has also been duracoated. I think I'm really gonna like...
Me either. That is really what my question is about. I can't find any useful info on it and my gun dealer didn't have any info in his books about it either.
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by, " Just keep this on mind if that's what you have". What's the difference? I'm new to the 444, will it shoot both? I assume if there's a short brass then there's also long, or standard brass?
I picked this little beauty up today (along with 150 rounds of ammo, 100 pieces of new brass, two boxes of bullets, and reloading dies). 444 Marlin with 16" barrel. I can't find any info on it. I pretty sure it's a rare rifle, does anybody know anything about it? Years of manufacture? How many...
I'm needing a sling for my Cavalry Arms lower. Does anybody know who makes this sling? Or any other slings that will work without having to modify the gun?
Okay guys, I found out a lot of info on it so I bought it. Got them down to $700. :)
It's actually a 16 gauge and it's an A&D Body Action scattergun by Jindřich Jiráček Praha in 1946 right after WWII.
Here are some photos of the gun in question. All I know is I think it's beautiful, it seems really well made, and it fits me perfectly. Other than that I know nothing about doubles.
They're asking $800. I don't know if that's a fair price, great price, or overpriced.
