I worked at a gun store a few years ago. We got a wholesale catalog in with new guns and prices. I took it to a Walmart. The wholesale price in the catalog was at, or near, Walmarts retail price on most of the guns. Of course, if we ordered it from the wholesaler, we'd also have to pay...
I bought a police trade-in Glock 22 recently. I've had it to the range once and hated the trigger. I've shot S&W Sigma's that felt better. It took real effort to get it to break and threw my aim off.
I was told that it probably had a New York trigger in it. If that is the case, I...
I've been seeing alot of these used Glock 22's in the shops lately. I assume they are first generation models. The serial numbers are usually 00xxx DPD.
Detroit Police Department is stamped on the right side of the slide. I found one at a shop today at $350, with 3 14rd mags.
Around here...
My local shop just got one in. They have it priced at $439. I noticed that one of the dots on the rear sight is not painted.
It feels kinda short to me. It's the only one they got, so no reports from any buyers yet.
I bought an SR9 when they first came out and had lots of trouble with...
Thanks for the encouraging words guys. I feel like this is a pretty handy gun. I want to keep it and trust it. I'll look into the Belt Mountain pin.
Thanks again.
I traded for a like new .357 Gaucho recently. With my trade, I only have a little over $200 in the gun. It's a 7.5" barrel, case colored frame, and locks up tight as new.
I shot it yesterday with some .38spl. ammo. It's still really hard to find .357 around here. It was very accurate and...
The single shot H&R/NEF rifles fill the bill on price, accuracy, and come in many popular calibers, they even had a 7.62x39 model. Maybe not a home defense gun, since it is a single shot, but good plinking and hunting.
Look at the Stevens value line that Savage has had out recently. Nice guns...
I've been looking at a polymer Witness pistol in 10mm,with some of the same use in mind. It seems as light as the Glock, but has a rifled barrel. I haven't read any reviews about the 10mm version, but people seem to like the others.
We used to have access to a farm that had lots of cow pies, hedge apples, and a nice hillside to use as a back stop. My boy learned to shoot there and cow pies were his favorite.
That all ended when some out of towners bought the adjoining land and started building houses. they let the farm...
I have a couple Cowboy Action Shooting friends who load their own. They've told me they would help anytime I needed it.
As popular as the round is, you would think it would be a little more reasonable.
I recently got a nice stainless single shot NEF in .45Colt/.410. It has a 20" barrel on it. It's a rifled barrel, for the .45 and, of course, you can shoot the .410 in it, with a choke tube.
How much can I expect to see out of this gun in .45? Will it handle hot hunting loads? Is there a...
I finally got a 686-1 last week. What a sweet gun! It is the nicest feeling .357 I have ever shot. Mine has the 6 inch barrel and target grips. It has the "M" stamp in it for the early modification they had to do.
Now I may have to find a snubbie to go with it.
Over on the S&W forum there is a thread by a guy who has installed a Glock fiber optic sight on his Sigma. It is a shorter sight and should bring your hits up. Adjusting the rear, as mentioned here, could fix your hits on the left.
For me, this is a gun that takes some getting used to. I've...
