    Deer popper

I’ve been plenty happy with my RSIs in 6.5x55 and 30-06. I’ve got absolutely zero interest in 350 Legend, but I would buy a 6.5 Grendel tomorrow if it was available in an RSI.

    I want a 6.5 AR in a 5.56/223 case like the 300BO

OP, if I’m tracking, it sounds like you want the same bolt face and case dimensions as a 5.56 with a 6.5mm projectile. I’m assuming you want this cartridge in order to use the same bolt and mags and just swap out a 5.56 barrel. No such creature exists outside the wildcat realm.

Have you purchased anything gun related in the last three days?

Picked up a Bergara B-14r in 22LR and a NF NXS 5.5-22x56 this morning. First step toward NRL22.

Turkeys aren't the smartest bird in the woods.

I hear a lot of talk about turkeys being smart and hard to kill, but my state literally had to make them a shotgun only hunting proposition to keep them from going extinct. They aren’t smart. They are wary. There’s a difference.

    2024 Hunting Picture Thread

The 6.8 collected a couple more fat sows tonight and a third was screaming back in the swamp. They were bigger than I thought they were when I shot them. Top pig is gonna go 150-175 lbs. Having nothing to show scale doesn’t do her justice.

    Which 10mm 1911?

Yeah. They still make the Ronin in 10mm, but it comes with their red dot which has awful reviews. I really wish the TRP Operator was still around. That’s EXACTLY what I’m looking for. I’d be willing to forgo the optics cut on the slide if I could find a TRP.

    Which 10mm 1911?

I don’t see a Ronin with an RMR, only the Hex Dragonfly.

    Which 10mm 1911?

I wish I liked Sigs. They make a P220 SAO that would work well if I liked Sig pistols and their high bore axis. I just can’t get used to how high they sit in my hand. A P220 feels great in my hands, and then I start trying to shoot it.

    Which 10mm 1911?

The budget isn’t written in stone, but I really don’t want a 6” barrel. I just hate the balance of a pistol with a long slide. I did look really hard at a DW Specialist this morning.

    Which 10mm 1911?

Na. We’re wide open in Mississippi. I could deer hunt with a 22LR if I was so inclined.

    Which 10mm 1911?

I would buy a Springfield Loaded right now if I could find one in 10mm!

    Which 10mm 1911?

I’ve handled Tisas, Girsan and Rock Island and came away unimpressed. I don’t really want to buy a pistol and have to put a bunch of parts into it.

    Which 10mm 1911?

I think I’ve talked myself into a Ronin. I can get one with the Hex Dragonfly Red Dot included for $900 OTD and I just haven’t found many negative reviews. I do with the front strap was stippled or checkered and a rail would be nice, but the more I think about it, I’m not likely to ever carry it...

    Which 10mm 1911?

    Except it’s not…

    Which 10mm 1911?

I looked at a Ronin pretty hard last week. The only thing it is missing is a rail.

    Which 10mm 1911?

I’ve decided that I want a 10mm 1911 for deer hunting next season. I want something nice, but not Wilson Combat or Les Baer nice. I’ve been looking at options from Springfield, Kimber and Dan Wesson and I honestly don’t know which route to go. Kimber offers the closest thing to what I want, but...

    Seekins, Browning or Bergara?

Seekins. Then, Bergara. Then, WAAAAAAAYYYY down the list is Browning. Personally though, I’d buy a Springfield 2020 Waypoint. Should be able to get the steel barreled model for roughly the same price as the Seekins. All four of my Waypoints have been shooters.

    About that "Battle Rifle" concept...

I read the OP and I feel like you are deliberately being obtuse about this. “Battle rifle” is a specific term. It applies to specific firearm. People have fought in battles with 1911s, S&W revolvers, Berettas, Glocks, MP5s and MP7s along with a litany of other firearms. Are those battle rifles...

    Springfield Armory's SA16-A2

There IS something inherently wrong with an aperture sighted assault rifle when there are much better options available. This is a collector’s item and safe queen for 99% of the gun owning population. The fact that you are stuck in your feelings and drowning in your own ignorance does not change...

    Springfield Armory's SA16-A2

The antiquated definition of a man is an X chromosome and a Y chromosome. That definition still works though. Same with the term “battle rifle”. The term you are looking for is “assault rifle”. I don’t figure you are going to concede that you are wrong though, as you haven’t conceded that you...
