Need help with daughters first rifle

We have a few youth 22lr rifles and the CZ scout is the favorite by far. High quality and very accurate. They make a model with a pink stock too. Others include Marlin, Henry models.

Thoughts on hunting coyote w/ 22mag revolver

22mag out of a revolver should be similar in power to 22lr out of a rifle, so keep it under 50 yards for sure, closer would be better. IME, 22lr hollowpoints don't reliably kill groundhogs quickly at 40-50 yards with body shots, so I generally try to go for head shots.

What's the best all around hunting caliber?

For medium to large game... 30-06 is clearly the most versatile. For small game, 22lr. For birds and such, 12ga.

Your Favorite Centerfire rifle round for deer.

My favorites are .257 Roberts and 7mm-08, neither of which are on the list...

    223 rifle rwist

My Remington M7 Predator has a 1:12 twist and shoots 55gr Hornady Vmax very well. I have not tested heavier than that.

Thoughts on a new hunting rifle in 7mm08

I would go with a Winchester M70 Featherweight, or if you can budget a bit more, a Kimber 84M.

    Looking for climbing tree stand

I've been using summit vipers for a number of years and been happy with them. I have no experience with other brands. I use the strips of skid guard adhesive tread tape for extra traction if the climber is wet.

    Stainless Steel Barrel breakin

I agree with Art and Jackal. I used to break in barrels but I don't any longer. I believe your barrels going to get broken in on there own whether you clean every other round, every 10th round or every 100th round. I have noted no difference in accuracy between rifles I did a break in...

    BSA's Sweet 22 Scope

I have one on a marlin 22mag and I don't really care for it. I'd like to replace it with something better (any suggestions?). IMO its not very bright or clear, has a thick imprecise reticle, is very large and bulky. But, its cheap.

Rifle manufacturers do not want my money (why are so many rifles unavailable)

CZ 527 is likely only imported every so often in limited numbers. 375 Ruger is a rather specialized cartridge. I would suspect these rifles are made in low numbers and only every so often. You'll probably have to wait until the next run if no distributors have them.

.308 caliber rifle that fits this criteria.

Not sure if it fits your OAL but I'd get a Winchester M70 Compact in .308 and add aftermarket sights of your choice.

    Kimber 84M Experience

I have an 84M Classic Select in .257 Roberts. It shoots great, looks great and kills deer dead. It's one of my favorite rifles.

    22 flying / Survival-vest pistol search

I've not owned or fired one, but I'd think that 22/45 lite would be perfect. I'd want something with a reasonable sight radius as a survival .22 so I could actually hit something with it and not waste precious ammo. I have a buckmark hunter and its plenty accurate but too big. I'm not sure if...

    Model 70 M.O.A. trigger question?

Question, if you put that spring in but don't want the trigger pull that low on a hunting rifle, can it be adjusted up some, say maybe to 3.5-4 lbs?

    Replacing a stock

You can call the company to get the proper torque settings for the stock. They will likely be different for wood vs. synthetic. I have done that several times. I've not replaced a laminate stock. I use the torque screwdriver from Wheeler engineering.

    Recommend powders for rifle reloading

Thanks all! I don't have a complete setup yet, but I'm probably gonna order the RCBS Master kit. Still have to build a bench as well. I bought RCBS dies for most cartridges maybe 4 years ago. I've moved and had some kids since then, so me-time is limited. Been saving some brass though...

    Recommend powders for rifle reloading

I'm slowly gearing up to start reloading rifle cartridges. I would like to eventually reload for: .223 .243 .257 Roberts 7mm-08 .308 .30-06 and possibly: 6.5x55 I'm looking for powder recommendations, especially powders that will work well in multiple cartridges. I currently...
