What have you done in the reloading room today

I think you will like loading with Unique. Where were you able to find it?

What have you done in the reloading room today

Stoked up 50 rounds of .44 mag range fodder with Berry's 240gr plated bullets over 9.5gr of Unique and WLP primers. Had some feeding issues with the new Lee bullet feeder...gonna have to work on that some. Quite honestly, I don't think my time spent with the new turret, press mounted powder feed...

    Powder preservation

Your solution is simple, and right in front of you. Load what ya got and buy new powder. Then shoot off what you loaded. Your powder is always fresh.

What have you done in the reloading room today

Love your new digs! It would be ideal to reload in the garage, but alas...winter comes too soon and is a long time going here in the Midwest. Plus, spring thaw has condensation dripping all over everything and I'm sure my gear would be destroyed after just one season. So I'll remain a basement...

    CVA Muzzle loaders

Over the years I've shot more Pyrodex than real black due to availability. Satisfied with the results and readily available, plus it's non-progressive fouling and is classified as a propellant (like smokeless) rather than an explosive.

    CVA Muzzle loaders

I've owned several CVA percussion pistols. They are like anything else...you can get a good one or a bad one. If it has issues, address them. If your lock is a F2F nightmare, tune it or replace it. I see no issue with buying the best you can afford, but better to get what you can afford rather...

    Caldwell Lead Sled

I don't have one. My son does and likes it. I was considering buying one but lots of negatives here...which is why I asked.

    Caldwell Lead Sled

Yes. And I shoot hot 7mm mag handloads along with .45-70. 20 rounds of each and I start cringing with each shot. He put 60 rds of hot '06 through his and said he didn't feel a thing.

What have you done in the reloading room today

I have had the same results with RCBS. My son borrowed my 505 scale and misplaced the powder pan. I called to purchase one and same thing...even after explaining the situation they refused to let me pay for it, or the shipping to get it here. 5 stars and I'm Team Green customer for life.

My son bought one of these and claims it's the best thing since sliced bread. Any opinions to the contrary?

    What Happened to this Brass?

I reload .380 and the brass will pretty much do the same thing. I can always tell if it's Glock brass that gets mixed in with mine and I throw it away. Not worth messing with.

what won't you won't shoot at (and why)

No glass for me. The reasons are obvious. I love shooting gongs at the range.

    1886 Winchester Cleaning question

Yeah. One view and the image gets burned into your brain. After that it's game over. Resistance is futile.

What have you done in the reloading room today

Me too. But some primers seat like melted butter, others hard as concrete with the POP option. I dislike the hand squeezers. This thing looks like the cat's pajamas: lots of leverage, quick swap between small and large primer cups (without unscrewimg things and risking losing that super tiny...

I like prime-on-press with the Rock Chucker, but the feel isn't there. This looks like it will do the trick.

Here's the thing about Unique. It can be used in most everything I load: 44 mag, .45LC, .380ACP, 44-40, shotgun shells, and even .45-70 if I chose to. And in the handgun carts the loads are so small a pound will last seemingly forever.
