Good on you Blackpowderwarrior!!!
I respect the heck out of you for that ! It really is the right thing to do. We don't want anyone getting hurt and we sure don't want Walt to have any reason to shut down !!
I get it but you're not the only one seeing this ! No telling what someone might do if you gave them a number . . . So, I'd rather the thread be removed. I'm pretty sure you're not supposed to give reloading recipes out for obvious reasons and likewise, why would anyone throw out a max...
So how would you do that? In one with a loose arbor, with a loose wedge . . . wedge in with thumb pressure, all of the above . . . they have no idea what Billy Bob's gonna put the cylinder in. So, why would they EVER say what the proof is ???
It's an insane question ( no offense...
The cylinders in the Pietta are the same dia. as Colt and I believe the top strap is the same width and thickness of the Colt. The Uberti has larger cyls (Ruger size), thicker top straps. They'll handle +p's.

Here's a view of the "workin parts" . . .
You can see the typical THICK bolt arms . . . and that's "across the board" for all the reproductions through the '70's, 80's and 90's. Couldn't detect the back side of the cam to verify it as a separate part but I'm sure it is.
At...
😮 think they'll notice ?!!! 😆
Actually, I caught their "cya" the very first time I read it !!!! ( thanks for posting!!!) And I promise, the Navy in question hasn't got the slightest "faculty" anywhere in it that I could see ( an I've been through a lllllot of um !! 😇).

You have "keen" eyes sir !!! But NO !!!! They aren't mine !!!! Somebody beat me to it 🤣!!! I was going to share this later but since you asked, I'll spill the beans . . . the arbor in this revolver was correct length, those marks are from the Factory ( that's who beat me to it !!). AND...
The way I get around that is to remove the switch/speed control and wire in a Singer Sewing machine control pedal. That gives you a truly full range of speed control. I'm sure you know but my diamond rotary files last a very long time since i can run them extremely slow. I hang the motor up...
The rifling in revolvers used to be 1:32". Some time around 2008 Uberti changed to 1:16" possibly because of the popularity of the conversion cylinders for Cowboy shooters. Pietta's open top revolvers are still 1:32" but their Rems. are 1:16" ( go figure !!?). That is the main reason for my...
A local customer got a great deal on a Model 1851 GU (Uberti) made in 1960. It's in about as unfired condition as it could be. Thought some folks would like to take a peek at "the beginnings".
The serial number is "E63" . . .
with E50 as "build" nos.
The rifling is shallow but with a...
It's probably the "battery shelf" which is at about 1 o'clock looking at the recoil shield. It "closes down" the headspace as the round enters battery. It can be a little sharp and "grab" the rim rather than allow it to "slide" into battery. Just "break" the edge and you'll be fine.
