    Stunning 29-2 4” Class B Engraving $999?!?! HOW??

Not really. Just a little more belt friendly with the tapered barrel.

    Stunning 29-2 4” Class B Engraving $999?!?! HOW??

The original "Mountain Revolver" was a .45ACP. ;)

    broke with tradition

Says who? Cowboy loads are well under standard pressure, typically around 700fps. There is no reason to restrict your guns to those loads and no factory recommendation to do so. Howell says 850fps and Kirst says 1000fps, yet produces a .45ACP conversion safe to 23,000psi. Hardball, lots of it.

    So, what's too heavy?

IMHO and only based on my own observation, I would say that handgun hunters tend to be more focused on assuring they have the skill to take the shot. Whereas rifle hunters are more likely not to. Still, it's no excuse for wounding critters. Who said that???

Divine intervention in Sin City: New S&W .44mag

That's awesome, good story! I really dig the Heritage guns.

    So, what's too heavy?

I'd wager that far more deer have been wounded by irresponsible rifle hunters who either don't practice, can't properly zero their rifle, blindly shot at something that moved or just plain can't shoot than handgun hunters.

conversion cylinder by Taylors and Co

The conversion cylinders are going to be Howell or Kirst, Taylor's is just an importer. I have the Kirst gated conversion on my 3rd model Dragoon. It's one of my favorite sixguns.

Which bolt action .22 LR rifle would you recommend for accuracy from a bench or in the field?

I don't like all the funky thumbholes they do for rimfires. It's why I'd rather get the FV-SR model in the cheap plastic stock and order whatever I want from Boyd's.

Help me understand... a 10lb rifle 'worth' it's weight in gold?

I understand all that but I think it's the sling obscuring his hand that makes it look weird. Nothing I could make fit the "reverse grip" reference. I think he's just casually holding it like it's a boltgun that ain't a .500. I mean, I don't know how savvy Redford is but he is an actor, I'm...

Which bolt action .22 LR rifle would you recommend for accuracy from a bench or in the field?

Then why did you buy the TR in the first place? It's not a traditional field stock.

Which bolt action .22 LR rifle would you recommend for accuracy from a bench or in the field?

How the hell is any Leupold scope ugly???

Which bolt action .22 LR rifle would you recommend for accuracy from a bench or in the field?

I have what is essentially that rifle with a shorter barrel and cannot share any of Hookeye's criticisms. I wonder if this action is not also "long and ugly".

    how much is too much?

Firstly, there are no replicas so the whole argument is dead in the water. Further, I can say with absolute certainty that for the collector who wants an original Colt Thunderer and is willing to pay $25k for one, a replica is not even a consideration, nor is shooting it. I'm not a collector. I...

    We all have favorites

There is no evidence to support the idea that the loading gate is on the right because Sam Colt was left handed and he was dead nearly 10yrs before the even was a loading gate. The loading gate was designed by Charles Richards and William Mason and it followed the percussion capping port. Which...

    We all have favorites

I'm not gonna choose a single favorite, because it's impossible. If I made a list, this Old Model Single Six would certainly be on it. It has the highest round count and odometer reading. This K-22 wouldn't be far behind. This Ruger Super Blackhawk is on its third and final life. It...

jacketed rounds in a Ruger old army

It's a non-issue. Pressure is not a concern if you follow your loading data or use factory ammo. The guns don't care about jacketed bullets. No they don't. They have an 850fps velocity ceiling with no mention of powder type. It's also been well proven that the open top design is not the...

Primary Arms SLx 3X vs their MicroPrism version?

I have no idea. The micro is better in every way, especially weight. The older tech prisms are way too heavy for what they do.

    So, what's too heavy?

I made an executive decision and my .41 Desert Eagle is going down the road tomorrow by way of Gunbroker. For me, it's not so much the weight as the size of the damned grip. Just too big to be comfortable. Thinking I'll replace it with an Anaconda. :P Sometimes it's not just the weight. I can...
