Colt series 80 Combat Commander 9 mm

357smallbore If it's really from the1980s, and you decide to get it, look it over very carefully. Colt had a lot of labor problems back then and a lot of stuff went out the door that could have been made better and finished a whole lot nicer too.

    Hi-power grips

Ironicaintit It's funny about those Pachmayr grips for the Hi-Power in that I used the full set, including me not cutting out the front grip strap (something I always did with my 1911s as I felt they made the grip feel it was too wide) and using the separate back strap piece as well. Those...

    Hi-power grips

Ironicaintit As soon as I got home and before I even took the gun out of the box, I went to the nearest gun store and bought me a set of Pachmayrs for it!

    Hi-power grips

The old Pachmayr grips still feel great in my hand. I got the Hogue grips for Christmas one year. Very nice, especially when I want to play Dress-Up with my Hi-Power.

    CZ P-09; bargain blaster

Not a P09 mainly because I felt the longer grip frame was just a little bit too long and awkward for my smaller size hand. Found the P07 much more to my liking. I did change out the decocker for the frame mounted manual safety. Works fine and I like how solid and substantial the gun is.

    Colt Trooper MKIII opinions?

My first centerfire .357 was a 4" Trooper Mk.III. It was built like a brick house , accurate as all get out, and had a pretty decent trigger on it. Only problem I had with it was the roll pin that held the rear sight in place broke in two and caused the sight to move around under recoil...

    Another bite at the apple?

.308 Norma Had a perfectly fine, truly sweet looking, nickel plated S&W Model 38. It was my favorite J frame until the day I found something else that I wanted more. Many years go by and I found a new S&W Model 649 that caught my eye. Love this gun as it's a very worthy replacement for my old...

I don't want a Sig P365. Tell me why I'm wrong or offer options.

My Micro 9mm. line-up in their preferred order (at least by me): 1) SIG P365X. Best trigger, sights, ergonomics, and manual safety. 2) S&W M&P 9 Shield Plus. Decent trigger, sights, ergonomics, difficult to use manual safety. 3) Glock G48. Average trigger, average sights, good ergonomics, no...

Alright, what do you all think 1911 decision?

Targa Have had trigger time with both manufacturers and they produce some pretty decent guns. So are you looking to get another Government size pistol or are you interested in something a bit more compact, like Colt's Combat Commander with a 4" to 4.25" barrel? Some current prices of...

Recap and Result - My MP-30 Build Disaster.

NIce looking rebuilds! Always liked the look of the left side horizontal mag feed (the MP28, Lanchester, Sten, Austen, and Sterling come to mind) Two never before seen (at least by me), submachine gun conversions! Sorry to hear you had to go through so much hassle with the "builder".

how did it start for you?

The Night Rider I don't know about Vic Morrow having no use for guns; it was just that he truly hated lugging the 10 lb. Thompson around every day. Initially he had asked if he could have the lighter weight M1 Carbine (5.2 lb.), but that was already earmarked for Rick Jason (Lt. Hanley), to...

Opinions on the perfect nightstand handgun.

My nightstand gun has been and still is a SIG P229. I added a laser/light combo on it shortly after getting it. I like that the first shot is DA (it has the Short Reset Trigger) and that it has a decocker.

Why Do You Carry A Gun?

I carry mainly because I can't afford bodyguards to look after me and my family's protection 24/7.

Just venting a little bit and man I am not a fan of Lena Miculeck right now lol…ugh

Frulk Every time I see that Kimber Bel Air I think of the old High Standard Sentinel R-101 .22 revolvers in their Dura-Tone Color finishes: Gold, Silver, Red, and Turquoise. With their snub nose 2 1/2" barrels, faux ivory birdshead grips, and shiny finishes, they were probably "targeting"...
