I have one, accurate, uber reliable
and easy to field strip and put back
together. Recoil is light with 147 gr.
as most are loaded to about 1,000 fps.
and a 75B is 34? oz empty.

At the range I frequent, they have a Colt Anaconda 6" Bbl. in .44 Mag.
Less than a box of ammo, through it, same box with remaiing rounds
comes with, as well as the box and papers on conssignment
Tried the DA pull and it was kinda gritty and stacked in stages...

Course you could look for Pre-'82 with the pinned barrels...
A bushing compensator may have a 'tactcool' look, but
everything I've heard of them = cheap rubbish.
To put a compensator on a 1911 you need a longer barrel
that extends forward of the slide and have a firm like Mag-Na-Port
put the cuts in the barrel. -and-...
Back in the Pre-JHP era, most of the major ammo manufacturers
offered 230 gr. FMJ @ 830 fps and a target load
185 gr. SWC/FMC @ 775 FPS.
My full size S&W 1911 shoots softest compared to my Commander
or RO Compact. But my softest shooting .45 is my S&W 625 5"...

Wake up call once at the range when i realized I was loading
a 1911 single stack 8 rd mag with 9mm luger ammo, DOH!
FYI - 10 rds of 9x19 will fit, function is another issue.
