1. Everything in the collective internet gun forums sings praises to the reliability of the cz 75. They are so reliable that they are popular in competitions...and one of the most emulated firearms in the word.
2. And in the same forums, you hear talk of fragile recoil springs, etc. Are those...
1. How is the chamber support compared to the Gen 4? ( This is in no way to imply that there's something lacking in the Gen 4. I like the Gen 4.)
2. How is the throat length of the barrel compared to Gen 4?
1. The .357sig is essentially a tapered cartridge. So, the skinny front part goes in the much wider chamber without much fuss. No scientific data on my part.... Just simple reasoning.
2. Also heard that 1911s of the full size variety is more reliable than shorter 1911...all things being...
I order a set of recoil springs for the CZ 75 compact from Midway.
Got in the mail a set of springs labeled for the CZ 75 compact. The product label also indicates that it is compatible with CZ po1.
upon installing the new spring, I discovered that there were differences between the new...
One more question if I may...
If lowering the hammer fully down....
Trigger is pulled while controlling the fall of the hammer to the full down position. Then trigger released.
At this point, is the firing pin now actively blocking the firing pin?
Or should I have released trigger before...
Ok.. I I really caught the 1911 bug. I have a nice 1911 with a nice new blue finish on the slide (Ronin). I suppose it's a budget 1911 for some...but it's my "nicer" end gun at my budget.
I tried using a kydex holster for it, but I'm leaning on using a leather holster instead. The choice is...
I bought this by mistake. Old eyes...stubby fingers.. bought the wrong thing online.
Sellier &Bellot brand 140 grains 9mm sub sonic "Tactical" ammo.
Is this safe and will it cycle in Glock 19. (And no, I do not plan on using a suppressor.)
If you have experience with this ammo.. let me know...
What I meant by Quality and durability comparison is something along the lines of...
Who has more durable parts? And why are those parts more durable?
Who uses the best springs?
Which one uses springs less likely to break?
Who uses longer lasting barrels?
Which of the three gun models uses...
I realize that they are apples vs. oranges..in term of action. But we can all compare quality and reliability... right?
Rank them in order. And give a brief explanation.
(I'm stuck at home...with this virus lockdown. I was going to start a 9mm vs .45 thread...but this one may be more...
I would not even consider trigger guard holsters. Although rare.. a jolt to the muzzle end can dislodge the pistol from the holster.
But that's just me. (And only referring to carrying striker fired guns with no external safeties. )
This is how I would carry any striker fired gun...
1. Always use a real holster that covers the trigger area.
2. Always use kydex...leather can warp and actuate the trigger. It has happened before to someone else. I believe the story was posted on this forum.
3. Always use a full length...
Tony... Could you elaborate on spring loaded extractors. First time that I have heard of them... Still learning 1911s.
What's the difference with regular extractors? Will those fit in Springfield milspecs?
My experience with a current Springfield milspec (which they say is close enough to the original milspec)...close to 800 rounds...of ball ammo..all worked 100 percent. (I was using Wilson Combat 7round mags)
I had failure to feed with Speer Gold Dot hollow points. But in all fairness, milspecs...
