Depending on what cgw parts you ordered, it definitely makes a big difference and well worth the effort and money. Big fan of the full size plastic cz’s.
Cheapest is to buy the slide already milled from the factory. Like others have said, swampfox makes a dang good dot, but you probably won’t find one for less than $100.
Found an off brand on fleabay for right about $100, but they are few and far between, and I wouldn’t recommend going cheap on...
Make sure you double up on the ear protection. Don’t ask how I unfortunately know…..
Like plugs under your muffs. At least the way i used to load em up.
Uh, perhaps since it’s over 6” it will still work in your 40? Been out of the glock game for years so I don’t really know which ones work with each other anymore.
I regularly carry a 5 shot or 6 shot snub….but it’s loaded with snake shot to either protect against rattlers or other small predators that will likely get blinded, which is good enough for me in certain situations.
If im not hiking, or on a bike, then I prefer a small 9mm.
Lee hand press loader is a good start, especially if you’re not cranking out hundreds of rounds. I still have one set up for a “boutique” round as I don’t shoot it much, but the cost to savings over commercial is ridiculous.

.44 special is what got me into rolling my own.
If you don’t hot rod it, your brass should last indefinitely, and I would definitely recommend starline
