In addition to being a gun enthusiast, I'm also a musician (keyboard player). There is this thing called "G.A.S."...Gear Acquisition Syndrome. Most musicians spend some time wrestling with it. I first opened my eBay account back around 2004. Since then I have owned at least 50 different...
Looks to me like the SA-35 is basically just a Hi-Power variant. I used to have a Bulgarian Hi-Power clone (Arcus 94). I'm 185 and a hair under 6ft and 53y.o.. That gun was not a not really big deal to carry in the winter with an overcoat or thick fleece. It definitely wasn't for summer carry if...
Even 9mm, maybe Hornady XTP's...but it should be a head or neck shot. I had a farmer friend about two decades ago who put his cows down occasionally with a little 32 Smith & Wesson revolver. He said they dropped like a ton of bricks every time.
My cousin just inherited a boat load of guns from her dad, my uncle. He was a .30 carbine guy. She is officially his next of kin so they belong to her but she's going to give me some good deals on a few of them. It's not just the M1's. He has a nice little Star 9mm. A S&W 45ACP revolver. A...
I don't like the feel of Glocks at all. In fact, I hate them! 😆 I'm hooked on the M&P type!. I have an original Shield. I found it a bit thin at first but I put a Hogue grip sleeve on and now it feels like an extension of my hand. I also just picked up an Equalizer as part of a trade. What's...
I so wish that Steyr had just been a little farther along with perfecting their designs. I would LOVE to have seen Steyr beat Glock for Austria's military sidearm. Such a nicer looking and better feeling pistol!
As at least one other person basically said, its not necessary...just could be advantageous in some situations. Personally I think most times that you're going to need to pull your CCW its going to be a blur. You may barely have time to position yourself in a combat stance. Both you and your...
I carried two Bulgy Makarovs like that sometimes, when I still had them. I had one in each coat pocket and did that for one winter. I had 8 magazines between the two. That's 64 rounds + 2. Mak mags are very slim too, and very easy to carry.
I almost came home with an AMT backup 45 the day before yesterday. Had been placed on hold for me for a few days. While in the shop I thought hard about it and asked the guy if there would be a charge to restock it and buy something else and he said no as long as it was an equal or greater...
Yes to the internal hammer and double safety. I'm not sure I like the grip safety in this case. I don't and never have carried a 1911, but in that case I'd want it. I had a well made Bulgarian Hi-Power clone once. I really just didn't like the exposed hammer fully cocked like that while running...
From what I've read, yes to all of the above. I haven't even loaded it yet. Working late tonight, but after work in the next few days I'll probably take it for a little hike after work and see how it handles.
I love the aftermarket belt-clip I installed on my Shield. Capacity may not be as much as some double-stack guns of nearly the same size, but the belt-clip has made it super versatile. Occasionally I carry it in a holster for comfort, but I don't have to. It gives it a real concealable edge over...
Once I saw a ballistic chart of values for certain cartridges and loads through various guns. I think it was the Python that was POOR compared to all other test platforms. It was surprising considering the legendary popularity of the model.
Social engineering at its not-so-finest. However, I don't really support trophy hunting, although I think hunting for food and materials is something humans should NEVER lose our instincts and skills for. We should do it...but for THESE reasons...even when we don't need to.
I love my somewhat anemic little Radom P83, in 9x18 with the Eurostyle mag release. I'm very used to it. If not for the slightly wimpy cartridge it might be my favorite CC piece, just for its ergos design and action. I am SO used to the little bugger AAMOF, that many times I try to release the...
Well....interesting thread....because as of a few hours ago I have 5 handguns. I just sold a beat-up Enfield, a Charter Arms 357 and a Windicator 357 and came home with a new S&W Equalizer with 6 mags included. I am now almost revolver-less, and its not a good feeling....but I do have 5...
