    Largest caliber you own?

375 H&H (Ruger #1) and a 500 JRH (Ruger revolver) are my largest. Just paper killers now. I’ve other choices for hunting, but these two do draw admirers at the range.

    .222 Rem copycat load

Not to nitpick here, but the box says 3600, right? You don’t actually know if that load hits 3600 in your rifle, do you? My point is your rifle may shoot that bullet into tiny clusters that may be traveling at a lower velocity. And the 222 is so easy shooting and non-temperamental it’s almost...

The most important kaboom in revolver history

What’s the story about someone discovering fired cases that were prototype 44 Magnum rounds? Now there’s some interesting strap/trash. And I like this one:

    this is slick

But does it make it any easier to reassemble, that is the question! Hahahaa! Those confounded Ruger 22s!

If You Desire to Have an Attorney and Cannot Afford One, ....

Yes. Crimes are rarely solved within an hour and jury trials never go that fast. You might be surprised how much of the potential juror is influenced by modern entertainment. We have to tease those misconceptions out during voir dire.

If You Desire to Have an Attorney and Cannot Afford One, ....

In my circuit, lower Alabama, we don’t have a PD. Our circuit has established a panel of lawyers and judges who actually actively seek out lawyers who will agree to do criminal work on a contract basis. It’s been that way for years now. Before I entered private practice I was a prosecutor for...

Carry Options... Is your gun "shootable" under stress?

I carry a six-shot Colt Agent in my strong side front pocket 99% of the time. It certainly is capable of respectable accuracy within 15 yards. I don’t feel under gunned carrying it, as I see it for what it is … a bad breath distance tool. I don’t ever envision rushing into an active shooter...

    Carry Concealment

I have a few of the same polos from Amazon. I‘m about 2 inches shorter and a hundred pounds lighter than you, but the shirts work, and if I’m packing anything other than my Colt Agent, I go OWB. No one seems to notice. I gave up worrying g about printing years ago. Alabama is a constitutional...

    Gun socks

This is what I picked up on Amazon. I can’t seem to post a link that’s not from my Amazon account, but if you type it in, it pops up. WIOR 6 Pack Gun Socks, 16 x 4 Inch Knit Gun Socks for Pistol/Handgun/Revolver, Silicone Treated Gun Cover Protection Gun Sleeve with Drawstring Closure for...

.38 Special 148 grain wadcutter loads using Bullseye

That’s an excellent load. I’ve run some as high as 3.8, but keeping it at <3 grains is very pleasant and super-accurate.

How much ammo do you have in your favorite caliber?

    You can’t have too much.

Small Game Hunting With Centerfire Cartridges

I don't pursue small game exclusive to other game, but I did once try varmint hunting with one of my 1911s. Using a rabbit distress mouth call I had a coyote respond. Popped him dead center chest with a 185gr JHP and he dropped in his tracks. That was with open sights and some 30 years ago in...

Which gun gets wolff spring kit?

Just my opinion, but I let a trained gunsmith fool with my revolvers. And to echo others, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. That’s just an open invitation with an ice cold PBR in your hand for Mr. Murphy.

Seems like I found a bunch on Amazon years ago. No ill effects on my stuff, but my safe is in the house.

What's your preferred every day carry?

I think I could live the rest of my days comfortably with a G43x as my dedicated EDC. But I acknowledge I need to look at the P365.

    Thompson Center Arms SOLD

I actually have a few barrels from Gary Reeder chambered in some of his wildcats based on revolver rounds. I’d prefer the Encore in a pistol format, not as a rifle but each to his own. I hope they produce frames and rifles, not just rifles. I guess time will tell.
