Bear is excellent to eat however it is absolutely a must to gut and cool as fast as possible after the kill. Makes great chops and steaks as well as sausage.

The chemicals used to tan leather and dyes used to dye leather can over time ruin some gun finishes. Like wise the chemicals we use to clean our guns are not always good on leather. I agree to maintain both but it is just in the nature of chemicals that some do not mix.

What is the safest way to transfer a gun from my person and store it in a car if I have to enter a government building?

In order of my personal preference in a bolt action rifle, .260rem, 6.5CM, 6.5x55, 6.5x.284, 6.5x47, 26 Nosler, .264 win mag
But in a gas gun I would change it up to (AR10)-6.5CM, 6.5x47, .260rem, (AR15)- .264LBC, 6.5DTI
Different caliber but I found the SMK and Amax not only were easier to find a good load for but they shot just as good or better. The Bergers were very COL finicky.
Yes this is the way it was when I was in the service. What confused me was the odd headstamps and the fact that these primer pockets are so clean with my federal and rem primers they are never like this.
Anyone know what they are using? I acquired a bunch of military brass in a trade and when sizing/de-priming the brass I noticed that the primer pockets were absolutely clean like new brass. they burn so clean it leaves zero residue.
