I’ve thought about adding a Colt style bushing after removing the barrel and milling .15” or so from the frame window beneath the barrel. More machine work but it would allow a full length cylinder.
That is true. Mako did the measurements years ago and from time to time I’ve checked and found his data is still pretty accurate. Additionally I have an older straightline capper that will accept Remington 11’s but not 10’s nor the RWS 1055’s.
Yes, I keep thinking I need to chuck it in the vise and open up that part of the cylinder… then I pick up a Colt and shoot it with no fuss or muss and forget all about the Remington.
Some folks who ought to know have said that the 1861 Navy had the same frame as the Army model. They were Belt model pistols of either Navy or Army caliber. Remington also made Police models and Pocket models. Hawg can probably answer that question definitively.
Yes, but if I use Pyrodex in a TC type patent breech I use the P granulation for all calibers. It seems to flow into the breech better and gives 100% ignition.
