Another example of intervention gone wrong

I'm a good witness, and will call police. Period. If the threat comes to me, I will defend myself. IMO, putting yourself at risk for stranger can become a loser quickly.

    Taurus 445 44spl

My wife had one, a solid gun, good shooter. Titanium, but the factory grips tame the recoil. A snubbie worth buying, IMHO.

    Largest caliber you own?

Zastava .458 Win Mag. Great rifle. I mostly shoot cast, so it's my bolt action 45/70. It's an awesome hunting rifle, meat damage is minimal.

    Home Defense Shot Size

Before you get rid of the birdshot, pattern it at living room distances, you might like what you see. My adult daughter has a 3" chamber 20ga with #4 steel. It's a rathole pattern out to 20 feet.

Bill would prevent sales of guns that can be converted with ‘Glock switches’

Because the court system, and people charged with upholding the Constitution have intentionally failed us.

Bill would prevent sales of guns that can be converted with ‘Glock switches’

I was a police officer for 30+ years. I rarely saw prosecution in a case I was involved in for sawed off, modified to full auto, or homemade silencer brought forward for prosecution. "Felon in possession" was usually read in or dismissed. They have the laws and tools, they are underutilized. The...

Bill would prevent sales of guns that can be converted with ‘Glock switches’

I want to see arrest record and sentences awarded to those criminals already arrested with those modified guns in their possession.... *crickets. Because they don't.

That's pretty much right on point.

    A spare reload if needed

Malfunction drill: what’s after tap/rack/reassess? *click! Strip out the mag, Rack several times. Lock it back, insert fresh mag. Chamber fresh round, Reassess, back in the fight. I like a spare mag.

Stopped Cleaning your Gun! I did - You Too?

Carrying a working amount of fouling in any gun is a gamble. While I like keeping the odds on my side, I have never been overly OCD about it. The fact that a firearm functions fine after a 200 round training session is a reasonable observation. I would feel the need to clean and inspect after...

What's your preferred every day carry?

Glock 43, and an extra mag. IWB kydex holster. Pants on, gun on.

I need help with a Whinchester 1917 conversion to 300 wby mag

The Weatherby working pressures are 65,000 psi. I would not be comfortable with that. The scope holes in the receiver ring are not looking good.

Hypothetically what would be your choice: Uzi in 9mm w/ 16 Mags or Winchester Lever Action in 45/70 w/ 100 rounds of ammo?

I'm in the 45/70 camp. Having owned pistol caliber carbines and sub machine guns, they are fun...for a while. A lever 45/70 rifle is more useful, and reloading keeps shooting costs low...and you can hunt with it. Meat damage on a deer/hog size animal is less that a lot of bottleneck cartridges.
