    Springfield Armory's SA16-A2

Okay, you just keep making up things and shift goal posts to fit your own needs and wants. The definition of the term is clearly defined if you care to look it up. What you feel it should be has no bearing on the matter. A battle rifle is what a battle rifle is. And an AR is not a battle rifle...

    Springfield Armory's SA16-A2

No, it does not have to be 30 cal. In fact there are a good many that are in 6.5 of some sort as well as a few other chamberings. But they are all full power cartridges. 5.56 is an intermediate cartridge. That is exactly the distinction. A select fire AR, AK, or other more "compact" rifle...

    Springfield Armory's SA16-A2

Correct, but not a battle rifle.

    Springfield Armory's SA16-A2

No, it isn't. The term battle rifle refers to a specific type of rifle. Words mean things... Again, I think having an A2 would be fun. I like all kinds of odd ball things. And in today's world a 20" AR with a carry handle and iron sights is an odd ball. My AR is a flat top 20" 1:7, collapsible...

    Colorado Weapons Ban

I'm in the same boat. I hate the way the state is going, and I'd love to go back to Texas where I was born and raised, but I've got family here I can't walk out on and I've never been a quitter. There is still a lot of folks here willing to fight. I am one of them.

    Springfield Armory's SA16-A2

No. A battle rifle is traditionally a full sized rifle chambered in a full power cartridge. For instance, a FAL, M-14, M-1 rifle, G3, or similar rifles. A battle rifle can be select fire, but does not have to be. In my avatar photo I'm shooting my iron sighted FAL. I absolutely love that rifle...

    Springfield Armory's SA16-A2

Meh, it's another AR in a market saturated by them. I'm sure it's a nice A2 clone, but again meh.

    Colorado Weapons Ban

I'm taking donations to the help me move, find a new job, and support a family of five fund. If it were only so simple as just pulling up stakes and leaving. My mom is 78 and lives here. My in laws are the same age and live here. Things I cannot simply walk away from keep me here. Sometimes the...

    Colorado Weapons Ban

Update: The bill has been pulled due to lack of support in the CO Senate. This is a great day for the people of CO, but the fight is not over.

    Are Colt barrels any good?

Generic stuff. Penetrators are not allowed on our range and I've never fired them through my rifle. So it very well could have been that particular ammo, I don't remember which brand, but I had other options that it shoots just fine so I stuck with those.

    Are Colt barrels any good?

I have a Colt 1:7 20" barrel on my parts bin AR. With 77gr hand loaded Match Kings it will put 5 shots into a group the size of my thumbnail at 100y off a sandbag with a 4x ACOG as the optic. Mine was free, so I can't speak to the cost benefit analysis. But it has been an accurate barrel over...

Help me understand... a 10lb rifle 'worth' it's weight in gold?

You do not grip the wood. You grip the entire forend including the barrels. If you try to pinch the forend on even a moderately powerful medium or big bore rifle you will find it has left the chat once the trigger is pulled. It will land somewhere behind you. You wrap your hand all the way up...

    Defend the Constitution?

The government is against private citizens owning firearm?! I'm shocked... If you think the government, either side, is here to help, then I can't help you. In other news, the sky is blue. This started on shaky ground and just went downhill from there.

Drach's YouTube channel is absolutely worth a check for anyone interested in naval history of WW2 and earlier. His multiple video series on the naval battle of Guadalcanal and the Battle of Jutland are absolutely outstanding.
