I believe you.
To be fair, I don't have much to compare it to. The only other "nicer" optics I have are an SWFA Super Sniper 10x42 and a Primary Arms 4-14x44 both with exposed turrets. They are both more tactile than the Serac.
Honestly, I know I was complaining in my last post. But I'm glad...
So I took my Savage MK II FVSR and TCR22 out today to zero again.
The Savage with the Viridian Serac mounted zeroed just fine. It also ran 100% again. I only shot maybe 30 rounds or so, but still. Maybe it just needed to be broken in...
But on my TCR22, I loosened the rings so I could move...
I was able to get a quick range session in this morning. Zeroed the SERAC on my Savage MK II (unsuppressed) at 50ish yards.
A couple of notes:
The point of impact didn't appear to change at minimum to maximum magnification, so that's good to know.
I really don't like the turrets on the...
Can you provide a link to that bag? I've got a Ruger pcc and have been looking for a bag like that.
Anyway. I like the idea of a rifle with minimal recoil or muzzle blast for training my wife or daughter on before we step up to 556
Yeah, I've got two sets of those 30mm rings and two 30mm cantilever mounts from Monstrum. I have had good luck with all of them.
I don't think I'd trust their optics, but the hardware is good to go.
I got these from Amazon: https://a.co/d/81Ikyt0
They aren't very high end, but they'll work. I got the lowest ones for my Savage MK II FVSR, and I had several millimeters of space between my objective lens and the barrel.
I've done a lot of scope mounting and remounting lately. The only "tools" I use are a pair of small levels. Seems to work well. Though I'm not shooting at any substantial range...
It looks nice. The charging handle is the only thing lacking on the TCR22. I need a larger one. I don't think the Superior Concepts one will work, because of the scope mount I have directly above the charging handle...
I've been looking at the Tandemkross one
Thanks! It's what came on the FVSR model of the MK II.
If it ran 100%, I'd highly recommend the rifle. Though as has been said, the stock is not great, and I'd actually rather have an 18" barrel. But those are things I can overlook. The magazines aren't awesome either. But for the price of the...
Well I mounted a second Serac. This time onto my Savage MK II FVSR. Man, that is one big scope...
I also taped a little foam thing onto the comb of the stock to raise the cheek weld
These are kinda cool I guess. I love the look of unfluted cylinders. There's just no way I'd ever pay for a colt...
Even if I were a millionaire, I'd only consider a Colt SAA.
