    Colt is releasing more 'memberberries.

The ownership is simply the business management and finance piece and has little to do with the products. Colt was well on the right track before the ownership change. If one isn't already aware of this, one has not been paying attention. And ah, a half-lugged revolver. Yep, I'm there...

    Appendix carry.

Funny, there's pretty much the same thread going on in the 1911forum. All I will say is, it's not the odds, it's the stakes. That, and I have strived to carry a handgun in the same position on my body for the past 47 years (3:00 - 4:00). The fact that so many cannot believe that one can...

    Why Own a Snubby?

The bottom line is that the older we get, the smaller and lighter handguns with lesser capacity we tend to carry, typically, because...we just don't care as much anymore. Nothing new in this podcast. Brent (retired LAPD) is a good guy, and has put out a lot of good information over the...

    Hitchcock 45's hearing protection.

Who is "Hitchcock45?" Hickok45? He answers the question on his FAQs (#12). Howard Leights, both the plugs and his electronic Impact Sport muffs.

    S&W 14-4 (trash or treasure $980)

Seriously now, Mark -- you're starting to affect the market prices of used revolvers throughout the greater Puget Sound region. Just stop. Now. Please. Leave at least a few for the rest of us...

They Don't Call it a Masterpiece for No Reason...

You should've seen some of the big Puyallup shows in the Showplex at the state fairgrounds in the 90s and early 00s -- I must've picked up about 10 fine ol' S&W revolvers for dirt cheap, and nary a bad one ever. My two best 15s come from those shows, and my finest 19.

They Don't Call it a Masterpiece for No Reason...

Early '90s, when the major metropolitan PDs were all transitioning to autos, you could pick up some pretty pristine Model 10s for under 100 bucks. Model 15s may have cost another 15 or 25 bucks... Even in the early '00s, I remember seeing Model 10s well under $200 at the WAC shows.

They Don't Call it a Masterpiece for No Reason...

A picture is worth a thousand words, someone said once... My favorite of mine, a 15-4 in almost perfect condition and a great shooter. Picked this one up -- seller claimed unfired, been in a box on grandma's closet shelf for 40 years -- at a gun show for a price no one would believe. I think...

Pistol light out past the muzzle?

No one, including myself, has suggested that one should actively try to press the muzzle of one's pistol into an aggressor's body. I (and another poster) merely brought this up as one possible advantage (note how I used the term "conceivably") to having the WML extend past the muzzle. Thank...

    Swiss Army...tool

Well, cool. Didn't know that, just another demonstration of my disinterest in the SAK. I still have one or two Wenger versions... And a pretty decent Victorinox chronograph Swiss Army Watch that was a retirement (military) gift for me back in Dec. '05... As always, companies that believe that...

    Swiss Army...tool

Not a popular view, I know, but I've gotta say, not only have I never seen the attraction to the Swiss Army Knife, I have never liked the Swiss Army knives. I've owned several, which I never used (except that one time camping with this chick when we needed to open a bottle of wine, never mind)...

To red dot or not to red dot...

No flame coming from me. My department went to red dots near the tail end of my tenure as a firearms instructor. What I saw was that qual scores went up and even the poorer shooters tended to get more scoring hits at 25 yards. Yet, what I concluded was that no one was really developing...

Geez, I've always loved that movie when it comes on TCM or AMC; now I'll never enjoy it fully again.

Pistol light out past the muzzle?

I'm just gonna concur with what @5whiskey said above. My current (for the past three years or so) nightstand pistols - 15+1 in .45 ACP, 20+1 in 9mm. And the wife is great shooter, who is very calm under pressure. Come on in! (yeah, you probably won't get past the German Shepherd or the...

    Are 44 Revolvers Dying?

Well, now we have a face to the name. Thank you for not looking like your (scary) avatar. BTW, nicely written little essay that surely reflects the sentiments of a lot of us on this particular forum. Yes, thank you. Geez, start a thread about .44 revolvers being dead and it devolves into...

    Are 44 Revolvers Dying?

No offense toward Mike, but he is just recycling old ideas for his columns these days. Like John Taffin, he's styled himself as an old-timey revolver guy, and frankly, there's really nothing new under the sun in this arena these days to write about anymore. Way back in the '90s we were...

    The big N Frames

Where did you score those Ahrends grips - included with the gun? You do know that those are worth a lot of money these days, right? And, in my not so humble opinion, Kim Ahrends made some of the best revolver grips, ever.

    Tisas M1911A1 ASF versus WW2 Remington-Rand

I would agree. It seems as though in my two LGSs that carry Tisas, the prices of each model have gone up $50 - 100 in just the last couple of months. The Raider seems to be selling like hotcakes, too. I'd also agree that the quality of this brand is very good, although I base that on my...

Do you guys mount your own scopes?

Yes. But, as @Hookeye noted, it sure seems to take a lot longer these days than it did way back when.

    S&W M10 family photo

I'm down to two, alas. 4" 10-5 and my nickel snubby... Sometimes nickel is hard to photograph; the minutest of scratches will show, but the guns often look much better in person.
