I don't sign in here often anymore, so I didn't expect to see this. RIP RC! I always enjoyed RC's posts. They always read knowledgeable yet not demeaning.
I had this conversation several times with an older fellow officer. I love revolvers and received my first handgun training from LEOs on revolvers, so I feel very comfortable with them. I even carried one off duty for 12 years. However, I would not carry one on duty, other than a back-up...
I like the use of AR grips. With so many flavors, I don't know why any new pistol gripped guns aren't made to accept them.
I've never bothered to check, but would it be possible to have different manufacturer's mounting holes in each chassis? Such as, chassis #1 has holes to mount either a...
I'd seen the bit about the Muslims winning their suit and thought the exact same thing about the cakes. This case about the Amish man seems cut and dry to me, but with the other examples you mentioned, one has to wonder which weighted dice the court will throw.
This is great news. However, it will be telling at the very least. Will there be enough violent incidents (I think so) and public outcry to start restoring self defense and gun ownership laws in Europe? I tend to think that the legislators will not listen. They're just as terrified of an armed...
I always find these videos interesting as well. Usually on the liveleak ones I try not to rejoice when someone is killed, even though the video title says it's a bad guy. I've never known whether or not the title is correct and that we're actually seeing the reduction of actual enemy forces.
I'd shoot it first to make sure it's a shooter before spending the cash on mounting a scope. I'm assuming you're looking at a traditional mounting, but there's also these that are a fairly permanent option if you'd consider a scout set up: http://www.xssights.com/Products.aspx?CAT=8283
Either...
I forgot about that. I wasn't really scoffing at others refusing to buy from them during that time, but I didn't want to completely vow to never use them again. Once things started to level off from the panic, I checked into a few accessory pieces for my first AR build and even trying to batch...
Yes, the usual spin. Those that passed the law and allocated the money can claim it's working while those that oppose the law will claim the law was too hasty and ambitious based on flawed info.
Meanwhile thugs haven't changed their habits or stealing/buying practices since they didn't care...
Probably because people in those professions have limited income. Outside of the gun enthusiasts, most LEOs won't use something if it's not paid for by the dept. Same goes for training, unless they're being compensated, they're not going to the range.
I'd love a Tavor, but the cost is too...
No I didn't. I'd thought about how to do it, but everything I thought of seemed a bit overkill and thick. I still think I could add something in if need be. But for the time being I'm not too worried about it. The blade is thick enough and the nylon is just thin enough on the width that I don't...
I know Gerber doesn't really get much attention in blade and non-firearm forums, but I happen to like Gerber products. My most recent knife purchase was a Gerber Warrant. I'd been keeping my eye out for a good, affordable, aggressive looking fixed blade for keeping under my uniform shirt at...
There are reportedly people that are "immune" to pepper spray, which is out of your control whether they are or aren't. Tasers have also been found to be ineffective on certain people (usually heavily drugged). However, between the two, I'd choose pepper spray. Not only do you not get to control...
I'd go the AK or Mini 14 route. They are both roughly in that price range, more-so the AK unless you find an older Mini.
I guess one could assume you're looking for a semi-auto, but you didn't expressly say so. In case you purposefully didn't state that requirement in the OP, you could also...
I think that a boycott, be it official or unofficial, could be taken the wrong way by our leaders. For us as a firearms community to stand up and say we're no longer going to purchase ammo or other products by X or Y country because something happened by a rogue agent COULD tell U.S. leaders to...
I like to keep at least one bad mag (if I happen to get a lemon) to use for failure drills. I have one old Glock mag that I spray painted red. I also had one bad Mini 14 mag before I sold it off. I had already marked it as "training only" and I included it in the sale.
I've held and dry-fired an FNX and really liked it. I like FN products in general, but I hate it when they produce multiple similar products (FNP, FNX, FNS) and won't even allow the same mags to be interchangeable. Not to mention the price. :barf...
