So, you are saying that my collector mil surps have been used?
I've bought 2 guns "new". One was returned for factory work & they kept it. Model no longer in production, so I chose a different one. I have a 50% success rate, so I prefer others to work out the problems. And break in the...
Like has been mentioned, any with appropriate holster, belt and cover.
I like the CZ out of the choices because I shoot it better. Which do you shoot best?
I have 2 shops close to me. One is near the interstate & prices (and sells!) at collectors levels. The other is more "reasonable".
The difference is knowing the market & the customers. For 10 years I've watched. And bought when I was inclined. And walked when we didn't agree. To see an army...
Even with wadcutters, these will get your attention with the issued grips. I like the combat style grip. I'll have to try a similar pair. Honestly, the pachmyer or hogues help more. I just got a set of hogue, so that range trip is coming. Not as concealable, though.
If worried about bullet performance shoot bullets designed for 30-30 velocities. I use them in a loaded down 308 and it works as good as a 30-30. Oops - that's basically what it is.
I understand the Ruger is geared towards heavy, low velocity loads but does well with 150 gr loads too.
Choose...
Fixed sighted Ruger. Prices are going up when you can located them. I gave close to $400 for my last 2 Security Sixes with adjustable sights. Little high, but how bad do you want it?
Have you read the stickies on how to buy a used revolver? Check timing and lock up. Should be able to...
You don't need to field strip a revolver. Swing the cylinder out and clean all the chambers and then the barrel and frame. Special attention to the yoke since this could bind up with enough powder fouling. Don't even need a screw driver. Now, once a decade or so, I do take the side panel off...
A couple thoughts. If you reload, you will want to pick up the brass. How much grass do you have in the yard? Might sway you to a revolver where you dump the empties into a basket.
Target pistol - to me that screams Thompson Contender with a 32 H&R barrel. You don't mind single shot? The...

You don't say revolver or pistol. Older 32 acp semi automatics are around. Older S&W revolvers (mod 30 or hand ejectors) are also. If you want a newer one, the ruger is great. I was impressed with the beretta tomcat & i'm looking for one of those. The colt 1903 is still out there. Lots of...
Very nice! I tell the proprietors to show me the cheap ugly guns first. Sell the pretty ones to the collecters at collector prices.
Amazing how some of the ugly ones clean up real pretty with just some tlc.
If you got that for $500, I'd say you are on the high side. But you are correct, they...
Service Six is a reliable gun. Can't imagine you needing a backup. If you are happy with the way it carries, no need for a smaller one. I'll say more supplies. Best of luck to you
Not interested enough to disturb batf.
Looking at the build, I would be inclined towards a home job, very nice, but home job. Got very little help from the shop. Said it had been pawned for 2 years. Very good shape and clean. Someone took good care of this one. And liked REAL light...
Is anyone familiar with a gunsmith who would stamp the barrel Moe's Customs? Ran across one for sale with a HS-Precision stock and nice Leupold 6.5x20 50mm scope. No other markings on barrel besides name & caliber. Remington 700 action.
Any help would be appreciated.
Belding & Mull for extruded stick powders. I am very impressed. Dillon for all the pistol and flaked powders. Never had an issue with the charge weights once set.
The 550 is wonderful. Welcome to the fold.
I use the dillon powder measure for all but extruded powders.
For extruded powders & rifle loading, you can set up the first spot to deprime & size. Second spot for belling case mouths.
Tumble to remove sizing grease.
The another tool head to seat...
Marksman in South Houston will let you pick up from behind the firing line. Again watchout for the inexperienced. Marksman was also selling buckets of brass for reasonable prices. I bought 45 ACP. I shoot in Humble now.
