Trauma surgeons talk about penetrating trauma to “the box”—an area outlined on the front of the chest by the nipple line, the clavicles, and the lower edge of the rib cage. This is where the heart and great vessels reside and where penetrating trauma has a higher chance of being lethal (or for...
I installed these grips recently on the exact same revolver it sounds like you have (recent-production .45 Colt/.45 ACP convertible Blackhawk) and they fit perfectly.
Why would you consider it to be remotely a good home defense weapon? Would you consider a .410 shotgun to be a good HD weapon? The .45 Colt/.410 revolvers have all the disadvantages of a .410 (mainly poor payload) without the advantages of a long arm. The slugs have about the energy of a .380...
I picked one up cheap about a year back.
I haven’t shot it extensively, but in probably 250 rounds I haven’t had any stoppages, either with FMJ or Hornady XTP.
The only way I’ve carried it is in a coat pocket, so I can’t really speak as to printing. However, it is significantly thicker than my...
First shooting by an Illinois CCW holder I've heard of, and in Chicago no less. Nobody injured, and no charges to be filed against the CCW holder--best possible outcome I can think of.
Uberti has had a repro of the 1860 Henry for quite a while--it's a Title 1 firearm. Same with the numerous other reproductions of firearms designed in the early cartridge era.
The relevant federal law is 18 USC Section 921:
All the C&B revolvers fall under (B)(i) and (C). With the variety of...
Unfortunately that's highly unlikely. I'd be surprised if it even made it to SCOTUS. Any such ruling would likely necessitate overturning Gonzales v. Raich, and as much as I'd like that I don't foresee that happening.
This has to be defeated legislatively.
Best thing to do would be to go to a few of the big online retailers that let you set up email alerts for a specific product--I know Top Gun Supply and 44mag let you do this. The mags are out there and the retailers are getting them in, but you have to be quick about it.
Pretty much the worrying you see with any rule change that relates to firearms. "Oh no, they're going to allow permit holders to carry in restaurants! It's going to be drunken shoot-outs like the streets of Dodge City!"
This rule changes the rules in KS to be similar to those in TX (where I...
As long as you can get a mag that restricts you to 3 rounds in the gun, as per federal limits for migratory species, I don't see that it should be a problem.
The only place I've seen that is on (pretty obviously senior) officers working Astro's games. I imagine you'd have to have seniority to get that kind of detail.
