I've been invested in the 10mm since the '80s when the first Colt, Delta Elite came out in stainless steel. The Colt barrel was the pits so I had BarSto install one of theirs, excellent results. I made a few other changes with excellent results also.
Then the S&W 1006, It was excellent as is and...
That's a bad idea. It would be low on power with a rainbow arc, not to mention that it may not cycle the action. I know because I've shot short barreled 22's before.
I would dearly love to have a Smith & Wesson 4 or five inch 686, (not the +). I can afford any of them but don't have any need for it.
I've already got a Smith & Wesson model
66-2, 4-in which is excellent and I've got a Ruger GP100 Match Champion in 10 mm and a Smith & Wesson model 610 in 10...
I went to my local gun store and laid down cash, $700+ and told the manager to order me a new stainless Colt Delta, Elite.
He said Dan, nobody has any not even the distributors and I said I don't care here's my money order me one so I got one of the first ones and yeah I had some problems with...
For an all-around do everything shoot anything shotgun I think it might be the Mossberg 835 pump.
It's not perfect for everything but it'll shoot any 12 gauge ammo you can put in it from
1-3/4" clear up to 3-1/2" and you can customize it to whatever you want including a rifled slug barrel.
I played around with my 6-in Dan Wesson 357 Magnum tightening and loosening the barrel nut and as long as it was fairly snug it didn't seem to matter how tight you made it, it was very accurate probably the most accurate 357 I have ever had.
I did of course notice quite a difference between...
The thing that impressed me of the 9422 was the controlled feed of the cartridge.
Pointed up, down, sideways or even upside down it still reliably fed the cartridge.
One of the few times I have screwed up by selling any of my firearms is when I sold a Winchester model 9422 and a matching Winchester model 94 in 30-30 caliber. Both functioned perfectly and I bought them for $100.00 each.
I love S&W, any kind, but I recently bought a 4" Ruger GP-100 Match Champion in 10mm to go with my 4" S&W 610 and I love them both. But if I could only have one it would be the Ruger.
I have owned Colt revolvers but sold them all.
I picked 124 gn as a middle of the road projectile weight and then sighted my red dot in at roughly 1" high at 50 yards and hopefully 4" low at 100 yards if I figured it correctly.
If I'm off a little it will be easy to correct.
