How long has it been taking you guys that have applied for a carry permit to get it?
Been almost 3 weeks since I applied at the KKSO and still nothing.
The guy behind the counter answered me sternly, "If you are not a US citizen, you cannot buy a gun".

That's funny, because the FFL where I had my firearms shipped to after I received my AFL a few weeks ago said the same thing. :)
I just out and said that he was wrong. He then...
I'm so upset at the DOL i****s.
I was told by Jennifer and Bruce Tanaka that my AFL was issued back on March 23 and should have it in 7 to 10 days. Needless to say, 16 days later and I still don't have it. Talked to Zandra today and she said they screwed something up and it will just be issued...
...Agency. We will be issuing you your license no later than tomorrow March 23, 2009. Thank you for your patience in this process.Have a great day!"

I don't know if they actually received my background check with my application, but seeing as I will have it probably within a week...
Guys
Quick question. Sorry if it is stupid.
I don't have my AFL yet, (soon, I hope as it has been 30 days now since applying and background check) but is it possible (legal) to purchase a gun in my name from an auction site (Gunbroker), and have it sent to an FFL dealer and have them hold it...
Is this gunshow worth going to? Are good deals to be had? Is this a Washington Arms Collector's show? If so, you need to be a member to purchase, correct? Are there any other local shows that are not WAC shows? Never been to a gun show, so sorry for all the questions.
Wow. Merry Christmas! I am looking forward to getting a SA .45 Compact. Wish it was a "M" model too. I am toying with getting a 9mm XDM though instead. Also on the "to aquire" list is a Ruger LCP, Ruger Mark III 22/45 Hunter, Rem 870, Stag Arms 2T, Browning Buck Mark Contour, possibly a Beretta...

Surely you must have received your AFL by now? This sucks, I keep seeing some firearms that I would like to purchase on Gunbroker and I have to pass them up. It won't be 30 days for me until the 20th this coming week. Looks like that will come and go too before I get an AFL.
Fingerprinting through FBI doesn't take so long. I and family applied for Nexus pass cards (at border) and fingerprinting results from FBI were returned in minutes while we waited.
"be AT print by the end of the day" will not necessarily BE printed by the end of the day. Be happy, at least you know yours is approved and you should have it soon. From what you wrote earlier, seems like the rest of us who didn't get "pushed" through like you may have an indefinite wait.

What was the DOL's response when you told them they must abide by the injunction? I understand they didn't like it, but what did they say to it?
I sent my application on Feb. 20th to the DOL and had the main KCSO do my background check the same day. KCSO also cashed my check a few...
