    Colt is releasing more 'memberberries.

Colt seems to have more guns in the distributor pipeline than ever before, IMO. Right now my LGS has two Custom Competition 9mm 1911s, 1 in .45, several 9mm and .45 Government Models, a Delta Elite, Pythons in all barrel lengths, a blued 4” Python, two .38 Cobras, King Cobras in .357 and .22...

My favorite 357 All Steel Revolver

At this moment, my fave is my 1970 Colt Trooper Mark III. Legend has it that they named it after this forum’s very own @Mark_Mark

    Thick Front Sight Blades

I’m almost legally blind and I definitely benefit from having more daylight around the front sight. Most stock factory front sights are too thick for me; I’ve had good success with Dawson Precision thin fiber optic front sights and blacked out rears.

    329 Nightguard

You lucky bastige. Good for you! Most of these have not been fired much, if at all, so a used one is typically a good buy and you totally stole that for $700. Seriously. Like you, I’d buy one if could find it and I’d shoot it with specials. Way to go! Pictures better be forthcoming :)

They Don't Call it a Masterpiece for No Reason...

Absolutely gorgeous. Sublime. Indistinguishable from magic. Congratulations! Edited to add: I like the composition too - the gun nestled gently in the emerging hyacinths. It reminds me of T.S. Eliot: “mixing memory and desire, stirring dull roots with spring rain.”

    Largest caliber you own?

I have a Thomas Bland and Sons .470 NE double rifle (1912, I think) and a .460 Weatherby, both inherited from my Granddad. I fired the .460 once about 25 years ago and got a mildly detached retina, no thanks. The .470 should be more mild but I am hoarding my Kynoch ammo for it and haven’t shot...

    Polymer resurrection - HK USP45

Thanks guys! I dropped my spare slide off today to be milled for an RMR; I’ll get it back next week. I also got the short reset kit but now I’m thinking about getting the match trigger. I also checked out an MK23 today - now there’s a gun!

    Bargain Gun Series: CZ P-10F

Swapped the Deltapoint Pro Mack truck of an optic for an RMR 3.25; much better! Did some more polishing of the engagement surfaces with Mother’s and a Dremel and it’s smoooooth now. Sprinco recoil reduction guide rod and springs are on the way. Just a fantastic firearm. The trigger now feels...

    Which 10mm 1911?

I’ve found it odd that there seem to be so few optics-ready choices out there in 1911-land. Based on your preferences, I think you’ll be limited to Springfield and Dan Wesson. I wouldn’t have any reservations about Dan Wesson; they’ve been owned by CZ for like ten years now and have been turning...

    Springfield Armory's SA16-A2

Gun-Reck, I am having trouble understanding your thesis. Is it that an M16A2 clone is a battle rifle because it was used in battle by our armed forces? And/or are you saying that the same clone is “all a rifleman needs?” I and many others would dispute both of those claims but as has been...

Walther PDP - Pretty Damn Phenomenal

Escaped for a half-hour to shoot the PDP as configured thusly: Sprinco recoil spring “system” with light, white spring, Sprinco reduced power trigger return spring, HB Industries micro comp, Taylor Freelance black brass backstrap, Holosun SCS-PDP direct mount. The pistol will now reliably cycle...

    Self-Defense Ammo for Glock 42

Nice work Sir! Your data’s been extremely helpful to me in picking a carry load for my G42.

    My $600 Tisas D10 10mm 1911 amazes me at 55 and 100yds.

I hit on 11.5 grains of AA#9 motivating a Rim Rock 200 grain hardcast truncated cone as “the bomb” for a full-power 10mm woods load. My Nighthawk Shadowhawk is especially enamored of that load and will shoot teensy-weensy groups at 50 yards of bags with it. These are remarkably consistent and...

Walther PDP - Pretty Damn Phenomenal

Got the Sprinco trigger return spring in; seems to have lightened the trigger pull about 1/2-3/4 of a pound. Pretty good!!

Kinda set on getting a 9mm comped and optic pistol

    Agreed! Walther PDP Pro SD full-size 5” with a Holosun SCS-PDP direct-mount.

Walther PDP - Pretty Damn Phenomenal

Not yet Sir. I hope to be able to hit the range early tomorrow morning for a function check, at least. I run a lot of 115 grain and I’m confident it’s going to work with those; but I also want to make sure it’ll run with NATO spec and 147 grain ammo too, without being beaten up.

    It Never Fails...

Good job! I LOVE H&Rs. I grew up 20 miles from the factory and, at 4 years old, a 999 was the first handgun I ever held and shot. I inherited two 999s from the 30s and 40s and I will never ever let them go. Yours is GREAT!
