Has anyone chrono'd the velocities of .327 Fed Mag from an LCR? The 100gr Gold Dot and 100gr American Eagle soft point both advertise 1500fps (YOWZA). I'm guessing there's no way a ~ 2" barrel can achieve that, but can it get even close?
I'm itching for a new carry revolver and the .327 really...
I am in the process of renovating a house I recently inherited. Should be moving in right after Thanksgiving.
Anyway, the room that will be my bedroom has a closet with a standerd size door (like a door to a room) and the closet is about the same width and depth as the door… Let's say...
Was over at my Great-grandfathers last evening and he gave me a few things. Among them were 107 rounds of M2 ball (1967), 76 rounds of M2 black-tipped AP rounds (3 boxes of 20, 2 loaded Garand clips with 8 each).
Anyway, I was wondering what they were worth, specifically the AP rounds from...

Came across this while browsing the PSA website… I'm in the market for a new AR and this seems like a pretty sweet deal for the price considering I'm looking for a decent optics ready rifle...
I saw Atlantic Firearms has them on sale for $499. From the way they describe it, it sounds pretty good for the money.
I know it's a relatively new company, but it's been a couple years now so if any of you own or have experience with any of their rifles in 5.56/.223 please chime in.
Title pretty much says it all. If it were you, would it be worth the extra $100 to have a more "flush-fitting" light on a Glock 19?
Is the XC1 any better quality than the TLR-1? Or is the main advantage simply the fact that it doesn't stick out obnoxiously past the muzzle?
I have...
I'm planning on getting a Vortex Venom red dot to put on my 22/45. I do steel plate shoots every Sunday and this would really be a great addition to my Ruger.
I read somewhere that I can mount this to the top of the receiver where the rear sight was with a dovetail mount for a Burris Fastfire...
Okay, so here goes. I'll provide some background info so you can understand the situation, then I'd like to hear what you folks would do.
I've carried a 642 Airweight for over 2 years. The price of 9mm has always appealed to me, and sometimes I think it would be nice to consolidate calibers...
Ok, so here's the deal. During the spring through fall I take my dog for runs almost daily.
Normally I pocket carry a S&W 642 Airweight 24/7 in a pocket holster. The only time I ever have an issue carrying it is when I go for these runs. What I've done in the past is just wear cargo shorts...
Now bear with me here. I'm not an AK expert, but I do like them and have some experience with them. I currently own a DDI and the Polish classic from Atlantic.
I really like the looks of this rifle...
Several questions here. As mentioned in the title this will be my first AK style rifle.
I've heard great things about DDI, and I really like some of their models. Is this worth the extra ~$200 or so over other types of AK's such as the RAS47, etc?
I'm a big believer in paying a little bit...
A friend and I recently started a firearms friendly gun channel on youtube. We're mostly just having fun and experimenting with making some firearm related videos.
Here are the links to two of the "reviews" we made today. I'd love to hear your feedback, and any recommendations on things to...

Read this article a little bit ago. See #3. I had never heard this before, and found it interesting. However, when I did a google search to try and find more info about it, I couldn't find much of anything.
Anyone...
Finally recieved my Altamont checkered rosewood grips for my 617 today. I thought I'd share how pleased I am with the grips. They look beautiful, feel much better in my hand than the stock tupperware S&W grips, and fit the frame very well. Only downside was having to wait a month minus one day...
I'm wanting to get my first M1 Garand. I've shot two different ones in the past and the time is finally approaching for me to get one.
I've heard good things about the CMP, but never realized there was such a long wait time. Right now it says "service grade" is a 2-6 month wait. If I knew for...
I would really like a Colt Government model series 70 with a blued finish. As of now that's what I'm planning on buying.
Are there better (more reliable) options out there for a 1911 around this price range? Not looking to spend more than $850-900 total. Is Colt's customer service on top of...
I have read something now and then about a process called "Passivation" that Smith & Wesson uses on their stainless revolvers to prevent surface rust.
I have two stainless S&W revolvers: a 686+, and a 617. Might get another 686+ at some point.
Anyway, I'm thinking about polishing one or both...
...in .38spl and I was able to haggle and get it for $325. Got a few finish issues but the lockup and mechanics are superb. The serial number (B717**) dates to 1971.
For those of you that read my Diamondback thread, don't worry, I'm still getting the Diamondback. It'll just take an extra week...
What's the best method? Should I keep them in their boxes, in a silicone gun sock, or neither?
I saw in another thread that someone kept their guns in boxes inside his safe, and he thought it was because he kept them boxed up in the safe that caused some slight surface rust. Any truth to this...
I offered him $750 and I pay transfer… Still waiting to hear back from him, so well see.
What do you think though? Reasonable offer? Too high/too low? Input is appreciated!
I know I've been doing a lot of these lately, but that's because I've bought a lot (too many) guns lately and THR is...
