Another Remington 514 here. Got mine for Christmas in 1953. I was 11, Spent many happy hours wandering the Southern Idaho desert with that gun. Now my grandson shows just how accurate that little rifle can be. Wish I had several of them, since who gets it when I go is a dilemma.
Stepping aside from all of the foregoing arguments and looking at this bill from another angle. I think that what we really need to watch out for is the addition of little "sensible" riders to it as it moves through the legislative process. The NRA has stated that they will withdraw support of...
Just to put things into perspective, I hung around for about six hours and calculated on the way home that I had heard no less than 20k and probably closer to 25k rounds fired. Haven't small countries been conquered with less firepower?
Thanks to all who were in on putting this together. It...
A few years ago I heard about those washers and called RCBS to see if they carried them. They did. I tried to order one and the customer service guy wouldn't do it. Instead, he just sent me a couple of them at no charge. Have always had good dealings with RCBS.
Saturday 3/31 Out at the bowl on the west side of Utah Lake. Noonish.
If you can get away for some noisemaking and get a chance to meet one of our THRers from overseas on his last day in the US (for this trip). Max Popenker has been here for a couple of weeks on business and now it's time to...
Nonetheless, I'm sorry to hear of Red's closing. I lived in Twin Falls back when I was supposed to be growing up. Friends and I would go in there and buy small bottles of mercury to play with (rub into coins, etc.) That was before the stuff was declared poisonous and mere sight of it would...
I like mine. It handles a somewhat hotter .45 reload than standard and has a really cool BOING sound from a spring somewhere in the recoil mechanism after each shot. I stuck a red dot sight on it and it seems to be at least as accurate as I am.
Oh, did I mention a really cool BOING sound?
So... Let me see if I understand this.
If you have a sharpish kind of a doo-dad that you are carrying for a good reason that doesn't involve poking someone else. you are ok. But if that same doo-dad is being carried with the intent of defending yourself, maybe by waving it at some miscreant...
Just a couple of points more. I have been making wax bullets for some time now.
In order to keep the cases with drilled-out primer holes from getting back into the regular reloading cycle (and being very dangerous), I cut a v=shaped notch across the mouth of the case with a three-cornered...
Yep. And the second gun, too.
First gun was a Remington 514 single shot .22 bolt action, a Christmas present in 1953 when I was 11 yrs. Second was a Hi Standard 9-shot .22 revolver, also a Christmas present six years later.
Both in excellent condition and cherished.
If the oxygen wasters are ever caught I would propose that as part of the punishment they be left overnight on some of the hardest fought battlefields.
Maybe by morning they would have a bit of understanding about their irreverence.
Okay, let me just try to get this straight.
A foreign military force enters the USA and, according to some reports even fires at Border patrol personnel and vehicles, but there is no real act of war committed?
Have I missed some of the finer points of international relations?
