I wouldn't do it. The rust needs to be removed. Take it to a gunsmith if you don't know how to get the rust out. Is it badly rusted?
Brake fluid and a bronze brush may work on removing the rust. If it's badly rusted, there will be pits in the barrel no matter what.
RWS 1075 seems to work best in a Uberti. You may also consider getting Ampco nipples expressly for a Uberti. Sometimes the stock nipples aren't too good. Check the Possibles Shop.

I shot one a few times, and while it's OK, it's a PITA to field strip. The grip is also wide, so one needs to have have big hands for them to be comfortable. They are also a bit bulky for concealed carry.

Sorry it's not in focus. It has 7.62 Russian printed inside the band. I measured it to be 28.8 mm long. The inside measurement is tapered from 12.3 mm to 11.7 mm on the small end.
