Just resize it , I use the Lee M Die expander die , eliminates that bulge when seating the bullet , it doesn't flare the case but puts a step in the case that positions the bullet straight . When seating the bullet the case won't rub the side of the seating die like your experiencing . The bell...
All the handguns were great but for me the one gun would be the Colt 1911 70 series Government model in 45ACP, it's been around for a long time , maybe forever .
I favorite carry 1911 is my Colt New Agent in 45ACP. Strictly a carry , doesn't have conventional sights like the Defender but a trench down the center of the slide , came With CT Laser grips . Just love shooting it 50 rounds each week . It's 100% reliable recoil is about the same as a full size...
Hey Big Guy
If your looking for that perfect carry piece , keep an open mind and try them all . For me I found the Colt New Agent in 45acp a 3" 1911 it came with CT Laser Grips , it only has trench sights not the conventional sights , for me it was the perfect point and shoot...
I love shooting 1911's 45acp . Combating the recoil in most cases is getting use to the recoil . Using a rest in the beginning I found very helpful , you have to use it for awhile until you start to shoot good groups , repeatedly holding the pistol the same way . It's getting over the fear of...

Yes , it was the first die set I owned , if I remember right it is a neck die , full length die and seating die .I only now use the full sizing die with the expander ball that came with the die , sizing is with the Redding Competition Shellholders . On seating I'm using the Redding...

I'm using a standard RCBS F/L sizing die , nothing fancy . I use the expander and my brass is on the thick side so I would think when the expander goes through the neck it would have alot of resistance but it doesn't . Could it be that some die makers have a larger OD in the die neck ...
Your following the set up instructions , on new dies you should clean them before you start to size , I'm using RCBS Case lube , I'll run a line on the desk top and lube the case with my fingers , alittle goes a long way , don't put any lube on the shoulder only the case body and neck , I use a...
If you know how to dissemble the pistol alittle polish will make a big difference on your trigger . Check out some videos on line . You can't beat a 1911 trigger . I inherited a Colt 70 series , I have a 3" Colt 1911 for a carry but I started playing around with the 70 series to improve the...
It's only one step for me to remove the lube , then I trim , chamfer , install new primers , I have 0000 steel wool wrapped around a smaller size cleaning brush in my drill press , a quick up and down , remove any dust , powder charge and before seating the bullet I dip the base of the bullet...
I'm not sure about that, I clean my cases first , lube size and clean again to remove the case lube .I use Redding Imperial Dry Lube by dipping the base of the bullet into the beads . You don't want any case lube in your chamber. I don't think case lube should be near your powder . I wet tumble...
I have tried .003 & .004 and found even though you have more room , cases seem to swell more from oversizing causing a harder bolt lift . Sizing to the minimum .001 & 2 it doesn't happen , I can go 25+ reloads , if I see a split at the case mouth I dump the lot . I load 30 of the same cases each...
I made myself a pistol rest , I have blown out my rotator cuffs in both shoulders , just holding my arms out straight is a problem . The rest enables me to shoot my 1911 3 & 5" 45's without pain . Just through out my lower back today . Would love to know what pain free is .
Good , I always try to answer every person . We are here to sort out problems or find some answer to what question is posted . When someone takes the time in answering a post and the OP finishes with " I'm done here . foxmeadow is a name to remember , it's been a good talk with the rest of you ...
Look into full sizing to .002 headspace with Redding Competition Shellholders . You won't oversize your cases and have better case consistency . Just my opinion .
