Help with Powder/caliber. new to bottleneck. multiple cartridges

I love varget for 308... easy choice. That benchmark is great 223 powder but will make high horsepower 45-70 if your hunting. 30-31 is simular in burnrate and well liked for hard hitting loads. I'd run your 4895 in 223 and get a nice full case.... The reloader 10x works great for precision 223...

    Enforcer in Cast Bullet Loads

Starting loads should work for an equivalent weight cast bullet.... it's a safe place to work up or down from.

= Verified with PV/Alliant customer service = Alliant to suspend canister powders significantly - Time for comparable powder substitutions again

This was my local achedemy today and this is what it looked like.... first time in this store since moving to Georgia. The powder choices were sad but tons of primers at 9c each... that one bottle of h4350 was 76 dollars...

    Auto trickler v4

If you want to shoot 1k and have fun doing it I would choose a 6mm. The 6br, Dasher, 243, 6 creed or even the 6 arc. Every one of those chamberings are fun to shoot, and won't beat you up. I'm not liking the idea of a 50-100 round range trip with a 300wm. Bigger cartridges might be fun like...

I'm curious if the lower load in the rifle is a result of finding the lead speed/pressure limit.... of the cast bullet

What have you done in the reloading room today

I can't say 30 rounds is day worthy, but I take junior and warm up is 100 22lr. A sufficient amount isneeded for me to get in the grove.. 10 in kind is gooder. Take more??????

    Auto trickler v4

We all make our splurge. I dove at the Garmin crono, but your choice based on use doesn't seem less reasonable

    9mm subsonic.

Big picture is subsonic , and pressure at exit. A fast powder will burn up at short barrel lengths and not produce a lot of gas in either situation. I'd use the heaviest bullet that will run just barely subsonic in the longer barrel. High nitro powders do you no service, so I'd start with...

    Range trip...and other things

I haven't seen many posts about squids here, but like many things occurance is probably much more likely than reporting.... I had a bunch all at once with my dad's loaded 9mm. I put 300 or so rounds in the duds bucket and walked away.... I felt a little guilty some idiot would take them out and...

    Chronograph recommendations?

That's what I had, that works and is cost effective. If my closest range was not a live all the time firing line, I'd probably still be using.

    Chronograph recommendations?

Not having to go down range, being able to use in indoor ranges, and the ease of setup made the Garmin a good choice for me...

    Enforcer in Cast Bullet Loads

In propellant profiles the author suggests loads of #9 data plus 3%. I know that's not load data, but it's the one thing in writing I did find. Unfortunately load data for #9 is all over the map.
