About $2500-3000. Be sure to find out what length the 16 chamber is, many of that era are 65mm. (2 1/2")
I have never heard of Adolf Lösche, but Hannover isn't known as a big drilling making center like Suhl or Ferlach. But like Rip dog says, lots of small shops throught Germany and Austria...
Actually, that's the one quality thing about the cheap Turkish O/Us, the wood. It's usually not as well fit as a Browning, etc., but Turkish walnut is one of the best woods for gunstocks.
CZ Drake is the only new one in that price range I can recommend. A good solid used Citori 28" should be in the same price range, and a better gun. While the Valmet 412 is a good gun, parts are problematic. Midwest Gun Works is Browning's Warranty Service Center, and will support that Citori...
While I agree with both of you, this guy is going into grizzly country with his family in August, has no experience with handguns, and can we agree that handing such a person a .44 Mag. or 10mm with Buffalo Bore bear rounds right off is going to be counterproductive?
Yes, he should have thought...
Yeah, I heard that about Hydromatics also, but I shot them as well as H&Rs and Colts and among similar condition I saw little difference in where they tossed them.
Hydramatics did tend to have a green tinge to them, moreso than H&R or Colt.
I had to vote. A young man came in to the shop today asking what would be a good gun for him to carry in Montana while hiking with his family. He was not familiar with handguns at all. Four people at the counter came up with 4 different preferred suggestions:
I suggested a 2 1/2" .44 Mag. Taurus...
I know what I was able to do with an A2 at 600m with M855A1 ammo with the iron sights. And I only got 1 range session with it before a match. I was issued an A1, it could not do at 600 meters what the A2 could. The barrels, ammo, and sights were just not up to it. There is no doubt an A2 will be...
Looks a lot like the LH shooter 'brass redirectors' we used in basic for the left handed shooters. I had them in my Arms Room at my duty station, nobody ever asked for one.
So wrong on so many levels. Perhaps some enterprising Marine with time on his hands, a captured gunto, and a broken issue fighting knife could have concocted something like that, but I highly doubt it ever happened.
I guess Bud K's supplier is selling on Amazon also. ;)
Let's clarify this, shall we; Never do so in the rifled portion of any barrel. I often put a brush (with steel wool [0000] on it, no less 😱!) in the chamber and leade of barrels all time as a part of my job. Sometimes I even use a flex hone or cylinder hone.
Needless to say, if you don't know...
31 gr. of IMR 3031 under a Speer 150 fp. is my favorite load, but I couldn't find any when I loaded some for my son recently, so I used AA2230. I can't remember the amount offhand, but I got the data in a Reloader's Annual from a few years ago.
Looks like I need to get another box of...
