AFAIK they only made 328 total, each built to order. One would think they would be highly desired but I’ve tried to sell mine several times with no interest. It’s absolutely beautiful and at one time I thought I’d get into BPCR but it never happened. I’Ve offered it to guys that were going...
I have a Browning BPCR Creedmoor in .45-90. Made by Miroku. Browning told me that it’s made of modern steel and will withstand anything any modern rifle would. The .45-90 is virtually identical to a .458 Win Mag other than the belt
Fortunately or unfortunately it’s unfired and new condition...
Well, I’d suggest cleaning the new barrel, then running a hundred of some lower end generic through it, then start dialing it in.
For accuracy I’d try to duplicate whoever made the older Wolf Match. RWS maybe? Eley? Dunno. Someone here will know.
My 453 Varminter has a heavy barrel and single set trigger that breaks at ounces once set. With the older Wolf Match I’ve shot multiple sub .5’s at 50 yards
I knew of another, friend of a friend, from Texas that had multiple oil wells on his property. Back when oil was $10 a barrel he was making $50,000 a day. It would be 8x that today.
At that time he had over 800 guns, some as nice as this one. All relative.
I have an acquaintance that makes maybe $5,000-$6,000 a day trading commodities. Some days less, but typically at least $2,500. To him, $15,000 would be less than a week’s income. He could buy it and not give It a second thought
I suspect the average member here has $15,000 invested in guns...
But you’ll buy a $80,000 truck, put $4,000 worth of tires and wheels on it, and take a 50+% loss a few years later. The gun you could easily own for a lifetime. You pass dozens of highly expensive vehicles on the road every day.
You’ll take a $10,000 European or Disney vacation that’s over in...
Dunno how well their newer stuff works in CZ’s, but I use the older Wolf Match Extra in my 453 Varminter and it is exceptionally accurate. I got multiple bricks after I saw how well it works. I use Federal Auto Match for just goofing around.
FWIW mine has the single set trigger, with the set...
Thunderbolt ammo has been notoriously inaccurate in the past. If it were me, as noted I’d probably very carefully clean it, then shoot probably at least ten rounds to get the barrel seasoned, then start shooting for groups. A better ammo that’s not particularly expensive would be Federal Auto...
I always love threads like this when guys get a new store, then bitch and moan about prices when prices are high on the same product everywhere. You think a new store suddenly has access to things like primers that are virtually unavailable anywhere, and if so they are supposed to be at 1990’s...
At one time I had two safes full of rifles. I was paying about $1,000 a year for extra insurance to cover them. After a while I figured out that insuring, keeping them stored and oiled for guns I’d never fired and probably never would fire didn’t make sense. They went away. I no longer own...
Same thing happened to us. Fortunately the bank caught it immediately.
Now we NEVER, EVER use a debit card. It gives whoever has the card number direct access to your checking account. Like you we use a 2% cash back card that gets paid off twice a month.
I’ve told my story about bear hunting in Canada, but I’ll relay it again because it’s so incredibly interesting. OK, at least I think it is.
Hunting black bear. Bears typically come into bait at very late evening or just as the sun is coming up. I was in a tree stand on a very, very dark and...
I have no idea if this is the correct scope, but I just took this screen shot. Product appears to have excellent ratings. Amazon is seller, not third party.
I felt that way at one time. Then I had my “it’s good enough“ scope fog up when I had my one opportunity at the deer of a lifetime. Later another guy shot that deer, 14 point symmetrical typical, 28” outside spread. At the time I believe it would have been the state record and would score...
At one time some of the Tasco scopes were quite good. IIRC those were made in Japan. Later they tried to live off the name and most or all their scopes were made in China which were significantly inferior
Today one can get nice scopes far cheaper relatively than products 40 years ago In...
These threads come up quite often, and I really wonder if the OP can’t afford a better scope, or if they simply can’t justify the cost in their mind. You can justify $80 for a carton of cigarettes or a tank of gas, both which are gone in a week, but you can’t justify the cost of one of each...
