Finally some good news.
With the Wilson extractor ordered I decided to just crank on the extractor. I've been fairly gentle with it since I didn't want to over do it. Well apparently I just needed to use my man hands and put some torque on it.
Shot 100 rounds today with total reliability. Then...
Well I tried the gun today with the tensioned extractor. Fired 50 rounds and had 1 failure to extract.
So I bought a Wilson Combat Bullet Proof extractor. Should be here Sunday.
OP, the manual safety on the P320/M17/M18 is just a trigger block. Having been through the P320 armorer course, I don't see how a P320 "just fires" by itself unless there are several broken parts in the gun.
Well things have not started off great but not horrible either.
Lets start with the good. I got to the armory and field stripped the gun and gave it a good cleaning and oiled it. Everything looked good with no obvious machine markings or warped/broken parts. The gun is also pretty accurate...
Yeah it's definitely buggered up. But I think the light from the photo makes it look worse than it really is. I'm probably going to change the grips soon anyways, so that will resolve that issue.
Ive been seeing a lot of videos and reviews about the various Tisas 1911s. A few friends have purchased them and I have been impressed with the fit, finish, and apparent quality of the guns. I got the opportunity to pick up very lightly used a 9mm commander length Carry model today for 500...
From the specs it looks like they are building a really good A2 rifle. Im very interested in it if they turn out to be as good as the specs say they should be.
My Colt barrels have all been great shooters. My free floated Colt 6920 would group 1.5 - 2 MOA with any decent 55 grain ball ammo. It shot multiple MOA groups with match grade ammo.
My prior duty gun (Colt 6920) that I purchased from the department still shoots sub 3 MOA with 55 grain ball...
Ballot has been on this forum for a long time. He posts discussion provoking hypotheticals pretty often. With the adoption/testing of the XM7 currently, discussions of the battle rifle vs the assault rifle are happening all over the internet.
Against rifle rate body armor neither 7.62 Nato, x39, or 5.56 is really going to make a difference. None are going to penetrate.
There are multiple scenarios where a US citizen could possibly need to defend themselves at extended distances. Especially if someone owns decent amounts of property.
Even if I new I had engagements out to 500 yards I'd still choose 5.56 over 7.62x51 because of recoil, weight, etc...
To put it simply.
Will it make a difference under 150 yards? Yes.
Will that difference matter? Probably not.
Is the increase in performance worth the other tradeoffs? To me...
What I'm saying is Ive never seen a guy take a 7.62 Nato COM and stay up except for a guy shot at 350 meters. Everyone closer, and longer too, has been down hard pretty much immediately.
I can't say the same about 5.56 or 7.62x39. I shot a guy at 50 yards with a modern defensive round 223 and...
