Certainly every gun is a serious tool to be used carefully, but I was looking at a S&W MP15 in .22 caliber and trying to decide if it would be a useful tool or just an AR look-alike safe toy.
It would be a range gun & plinker, but other than that can you apply any other use? Cannot hunt with a...
LEVER ACTION rifle specs:
I am looking for something compact, with a fast action, western in appearance, suitable for deer hunting to 150 yards, in a more ubiquitous caliber, and of a quality build.
Disqualifiers so far are: Synthetic stocks, cartridges that must be hand loaded, no picatinny/...
Checking gun stores around Gettysburg, PA I have been told by a majority of gun stores that using in-chamber cartridges with lasers for bore sighting is a worthless gesture. They sight unreliability factors such as poor machining, canted bullets, weakening batteries and etc. as reasons.
what do...
Coming up in a few days, the beginning of February, is the Great Outdoor Show in Harrisburg, PA. I think it is sponsored by the NRA. I know there are a lot of outfitters there, but is it a good place to look for guns and accessories?
So now the SUB 2000 generation 3 - 9mm PCC has arrived.
They have made changes to address concerns that required some add on's to be purchased for the Gen I and Gen 2.
I guess if a guy runs out to buy #3 it is only a matter of time before the 4th rendition is released .
Guess I'll just have...
I was talking with a friend about my new SUB2000. I opined that I thought it would probably run more smoothly with FMJ projectiles.
But I have no experience with the PCC family (in 9mm).
Any thoughts you'd care to share?
I it it just the "I meant to fire but forgot to release the manual safety" on my pistol that is the objection to having one on your pistol?
Is a person less of a shorter or some kind of wimp if he/she elected to buy a gun with one?
I finally picked up a P-365 with a safety and couldn't be more...
Gonna buy a inside the right front pocket holster for a P-365 with a manual safety.
Love the Alabama holsters with a smaller gun....
Any recommendations from your personal experience for the SiG ?
My Gettysburg safe (Rural King Brand) is HARD to close but easy to open. What is the remedy? I have to push and push the handle to the right to lock it. After entering the code it opens easily.
Purchasing a vertical grip and a folding platform for a red dot to put on my SUB2000.
Read the reviews about these McCarbo parts and they are mostly very good.
I was once at a gun forum get together & shoot and a guy was nice enough to let me try his 9mm PCC. It was a hoot. At 75 yards or so...
Was going to get into SASS but now it is out of the question. Will be putting my Marlin JM Cowboy on the market - BUT, I have tons of RELOADED cowboy 45LC ammo that I would also like to part with. Also have some factory.
So the question for this thread is: Would you ever consider buying...
I feel somewhat under gunned with both - but I would choose one of these two rifles with the proviso that shots would be limited to approximately 100 - 125 yards. I am hunting on light forest adjacent to pastureland on a friend's farm. No deep woods and no long across the field shots. I have...
Had a friend in a very rural county who had various rifles leaning in the corners of several rooms in his home. They were all loaded and ready to fire. I don't even know if he engaged the safeties. His view was that if they weren't ready for immediate use then there was no point in having them...
Took my SUB2000 for its first range trial. Fired reliably with no problems. A wee bit more recoil than expected (I expected none).
The only difficulty is with using the iron sights provided. You have to, I'm going to use te word "scrunch", your head down, down, down, to get a sight picture...
Local gun store has an Anderson 9mm carbine AR with e red dot sight. They want $650... (USED - but observably in good shape) Don't know how it shoots.
Their claim is that it is good up to 100 yards.
What do you think, would this be a suitable "bug out" gun for when laws are ignored completely?
Got two at the local Rural King. An FN for around $1,200 and a Ruger for $700.
A pistol caliber that supposedly shoots accurately to 150 yards.
Ammo is herd to reload but readily available locally.
What do you think?
Traded my Glock 42 in .380 for a P-365 w/manual safety. Did so for three reasons; 1. Step up power of the 9mm vs. the .380, 2. Addition of the manual safety, and 3. Availability of cheaper ammo.
In my experience Glock = SIG and visa-versa in quality, no difference there. The 42 had the Glock...
Walked into a a well known gun store in Williamsport, PA and there, on the wall, was a CZ-527 American in .223/5.56. What an amazing handy, and versatile little rifle. I gave no thought to comparing this and that, getting advice from forums, researching reviews, watching YouTube videos, and etc...
