Be aware that too much, or (an application of) too thin of a 'seal' with lacquer can, and will, kill your primer, too.
I used to pull down all of the 'dud' ammo that was returned to the Arms Room back in the day, when I was with the Marksmanship Unit, and every single round had the primer...
Most laminated stocks are made from birch; a few also incorporate woods like maple. Apply a coat of Minwax Pre-Stain Wood Conditioner before you try to stain, and then it should turn out evenly.
You can lube every third or fourth bullet with case lube, as far as that goes. You could probably also shoot those .313" bullets through your .30-30 without causing any problems.
The factory lube will still be intact after you size the bullets, should you choose to do so. You're probably...
I've shot a lot of the RCBS 250 KT bullet over 22.0 grains of IMR-4227 with outstanding accuracy and no pressure signs in an old S&W M29 that I once owned. I could routinely hit clay pigeons on the 100-yard berm with that combo!
The standard precautions apply; this was safe in MY gun, etc.
No ready-made product. You can epoxy a piece of aluminum bar to the back of the magazine box to reduce the length, and cut your follower to match. Good luck with your project!
Assuming that you're going to be using the brass from M2 Ball ammo, yes, you should be able to get four reloads - assuming that your FL sizing die is properly set up.
Here's a good (but rather involved) read on the subject...
Assuming you're talking about this one:
98K Replacement Barrels

Price: $99.95
Norwegian 98K replacement barrels.New old stock
you'll need a large ring M98 action. Be advised that not all Mausers are created equal; the Yugo M48 series Mausers are a mid-length action, and...
No personal experience, but Google is your friend. FWIW, that seems to be the only negative post I saw in a very quick search. Do your own web search and make your own decision.

The weight specified with a bullet mold is only an educated guess what the finished bullets will weigh. This is why savvy caster/reloaders adjust their powder charges to a specific 'batch' of cast bullets.
I've been casting bullets since 1976, and I've never had a bullet weigh exactly what...
The DA pull on a PPC revolver should be a buttery-smooth 8 pounds or so, if it was tuned by a smith who specializes in PPC guns. Judging by the off-center underlug, it was not. Still, a pretty nice gun.
Yes, Elk Neck State FOREST (NOT Park) has a range that runs $10 per person per day (last time I was there, anyway) - both rifle and pistol ranges. As you exit the town of North East on Rte 7, take the first left (Irishtown Road) and drive about 1/2 mile past the high school. The entrance to...
I use the proper size combination (open/box end) wrench to install buffer tubes, personally. IMHO the torque requirements on that part are not critical, so I just snug them up good. If I feel the need to torque one, I have an old GI Armorer's Wrench - the one with the cutouts for the...
As you've probably figured out by now, .45-70 brass varies in length - a lot! This is something that BPCR shooters and those who paper patch their bullets figured out a long time ago. It sucks, but that's life.
You can buy a device to 'stretch' the brass to optimum length, or you can have a...
