My range log shows that I saved $2,000 my first year reloading compared to the previous year. The equipment cost me less than half that and retained most of its value. Based on my load rate, my time was worth roughly $50 per hour to load .45 ACP on a Dillon SDB. I've since upgraded to a 650 with...
Go ahead and buy a pound of HP38/Win231 if you are unsure. That will load more than 1,200 rounds of mid-range .45 ACP loads, and by the time its gone you'll likely be hooked. It produces great accuracy accross a wide range of loads. It leaves less fouling than most factory ammo, but it can be a...
Don't tell anyone. The typical non-carrying citizen lives in denial of the world they live in. They don't want to acknowledge the things they see on the news every day, and they always find a way to rationalize why these things will never happen to them. Anyone who acknowledges the real threats...
Love, love, love my PM9. It conceals so well and wears so comfortably that I carry it everywhere. Although not the smallest for pocket carry, you can drop the whole thing, IWB holster and all, in a front pocket. For me, its more of a cargo pocket carry gun.
Accuracy is very good, and the...
In the past eight weeks, I've ordered and received two different orders for 230gr .45 ACP FMJ's. Precision Delta took about six weeks from the day the order was placed, and Roze sent them in a little over four weeks. Both orders were for 2,000 bullets.
My worst mistake was shooting reloads bought at a gunshow. I got a squib within my first 400 rounds.
I've fired just over 2,000 of my own reloads without any problems. Someday, I'll get around to buying a kinetic hammer to pull the four rounds I assembled with flipped or missing primers.
My Airsoft USP just came out of retirement. Now I have a use for the cheap laser CDNN sent me with my last purchase. The Mrs. isn't liking the yellow pellets all over the house, tho...
I'm about two months into reloading .45 ACP and am very satisfied with the quality, performance and speed of my Dillon SDB. My total investment for the press and all the necessities was $600. I've loaded 2,000 rounds with only two mistakes - a couple of flipped primers. Its an easy machine to...
I'd pick the M&P over the USP because it is smaller and more ergonomic, but I bought the HK45 instead of the M&P. I really liked shooting the M&P, and its size feels almost like a compact. However, my HK45 is more accurate, has a better trigger (SA, of course), and fits my hand even better. I...
Its possible that your support hand was touching the slide release lever ever so slightly, and the slide simply failed to lock back after the last round was fired. When this happens, the hammer drops on an empty chamber. This is very common with the USP/P2K/P30 series pistols.
I just started reloading and have fired 750 rounds of Zero 230g FMJ with no issues. I bought them on recommendation of a competitive shooter on another forum who claims that a lot of IDPA guys like them. I'm loading mine with 5.3g of W231, CCI 300 primers, mixed brass and a 1.270 OAL.
They...
Congratulations, Javelin. That's a major score. There must be an awful lot of us rich Kool Aid drinkers out there because the P30 is nearly impossible to find right now. I love mine, and everyone who's shot it has raved about its accuracy and ergonomics. It shoots like a laser.
Disclaimer...
New to this as well, and started out with Hodgdon HP-38 because I couldn't find W231. They are supposedly identical. After a few hundred rounds with HP-38, I switched to W231 and found that it looks the same, meters the same and burns just as clean. My reloads with 5.3g to 5.5g of either powder...
All the big-box retailers in my area are sold out, but some of the smaller shops have various primers in stock. Yesterday, I scored 1,000 large pistol primers at a small shop I visited while traveling accross the state for work. They limited customers to 1,000 primers per day, which I thought...
