    Alliant 2400 in .357 Mag

Where does Alliant show the 10" barrel? I don't see that information in their load manual.

    Alliant 2400 in .357 Mag

Your 4" velocities are a bit lower than mine, but I'm using a different bullet and gun. Different velocities can also be due to the brand of brass, lot # of powder, different primer. They are what they are, so you can select whatever you feel meets your needs. Just to check what your gun is...

PPC Loads for 38 Special and 357 Magnum (Target Level)

You mean HBWC, right? Never heard of BEWC.

Best 9mm revolver for EDC -or- just stay with my 357

9mm revolver ballistics fall right between 38 special and 357 mag. I've shot all three in a Ruger Blackhawk with a conversion cylinder. A more equal comparison would be the 38 Special and 380 Auto. Both produce about 200 ft lbs of energy from their respective firearms. You likely won't be...

Best 9mm revolver for EDC -or- just stay with my 357

I apologize for confusion on my part. The solution to the problem you describe is simply to use jacketed or plated bullets in the 38 Special.

38 spl 148gr wadcutter with Unique

I've used 3.0 and 3.2 grains of Unique with a ACME 148 DEWC, and accuracy was very good. It's a little dirty at that weight, but it shoots well and that's the idea.

357 load development and casual observations

The point of the primer post is that small rifle and magnum small pistol primers are not the same. There was information on a forum or two that CCI 550 small pistol magnum and CCI 400 small rifle primers were the same. They are not, as stated specifically by CCI. They have different ingredients...

Which model of Charter Arms are you referring to? The Bulldog series does NOT require moon clips.

SAAMI max average pressure for 9mm Luger is 35,000 psi. SAAMI max average pressure for 357 Magnum is the same 35,000 psi.

    357mag/158gr powder recommendation

If loading a cartridge near its max SAAMI pressure limit risks gun damage or worse, we're in trouble. By the way, what is your "worse"?

    357mag/158gr powder recommendation

No, not necessarily. It's not the chamber pressure that matters. It's the gas pressure at the muzzle that matters, and peak chamber pressure does not predict muzzle pressure very well. The formula for recoil requires bullet speed, bullet weight and powder weight. There is no provision for...

.38 Special 148 grain wadcutter loads using Bullseye

Right. Matt's Bullets sells a cast HBWC. I've shot a few and they were very accurate in my gun. https://www.mattsbullets.com/152-Grain-Hollow-Base-Wadcutter-359_p_46.html

.38 Special 148 grain wadcutter loads using Bullseye

Most factory loaded wadcutter loads use a hollow base, and are usually what is thought of when referring to wadcutters. They are usually swaged, though there ae some cast HBWCs. The double end design is common in cast bullets.

.38 Special 148 grain wadcutter loads using Bullseye

Different manuals, different data. The hollow base wadcutters should not be pushed as fast because if the pressure/speed is too high, the skirt can become detached and stick in the barrel. In some manuals, the start load for 38 wadcutters, and other 38 Special bullets, is 2.0 gr. Bullseye.
