sounds like the lee classic cast is a fine choice for you. I hear nothing but great things about the lee turret ( the classic cast ) but I have no experience with one.
I see you have a lot of calibers listed that you would like to load for. I say , pick the caliber you shoot the most of and start with that. Load a bunch and shoot a bunch of that caliber then decide what you want to load for next. .308 might be a caliber you would load on a single stage ...
Get yourself a 550 . If you have a rifle caliber you might want to weigh every charge you can do it. Just use a powder threw expanding die like the one lee makes . put it inplace of the powder measure. and ta da. your loading speed is way faster than a single stage and you can have dead on...
AA#9 is pretty sweet in the .357 sig
I think i'm going to load power pistol in the next batch to save a bit on powder and still get some decent velocity .
what a fun cartridge to load for.
i use that bullet in my 4" xd and I load 5.5 grains bullseye
I get a bit of leading so next time i'll stop at 5 grains and see what happens. besides that they shoot great
I like my RCBS rockchucker suprime master reloading kit.
It's rock solid . for 300 rounds a month it's just about perfect.
.357/38 are among my favorite calibers to reload. brass lasts forever . loads for puff to POW!
25 bucks a box is a great deal on .357 magnum
However you can do it for much less if your going to shoot often.
I say the lee classic turret if you going to load mostly light/ medium loads
single stage with a drum type measure like the rcbs uniflow if your going to load lots of w296 and...
the lee kit is an awsesome deal.
If i was going to be loading a lot of w296 or h110 (full power loads)
I would get a drum type powder measure. i hear reports of the lee leaking fine powder and my dillon binds slightly (still works just fine)
Just a thought
MBC has my business hands down. Fast shipping good product made in USA
They always ship fast for me. I shoot the xd 200 grain .45 and the 158 cowboy roundnose .38
If they keep making them i'll keep loading them up
huge thumbs up
if you have an xd you could just shoot cast bullets.
I would not worry so much about finding perfect data for the plated bullets just don't push them to max
work up your charge and find and accurate load and enjoy your pistol.
did you cycle a pound of powder threw the measure before use?
I have a uniflow and it's about as dead on as it gets with ball powder. it's a great measure.
Practice a bit with it and if you want get the pistol drum.
happy loading you have some great gear
$100 lee single stage kit
$300 lee classsic cast turret ( with all the bells a whistles )
$600 dillon 550 ( everything to get started including tumbler) I run a 550 and it's great
$600 + dillon 650
my 550b will crank out .357 mag like it was made for it....
It does not do well with W296 so i use my uni-flow for that
other than that you should be good to go.
I'd really like to try lill' gun and 158 grain bullets next time i do a run of .357 mag
