A Makarov will serve you well. Is it the "best"? No, but no gun is ever the "best". The Mak uses a less powerful cartridge and is heavy but the advantages of a Mak are a time proven design, reliable, accuracy, inexpensive ammo and just the "coolness" of it.:D

I saw that they are thinner, do you know how they compare to the "Stellar-Clips" by Taurus. I had a Taurus 455 and it was a superb handgun except the clips were too thin.

Anyone had it done on a Smith J-Frame 38 spec? I'm considering getting a Smith 642 or 638 and the moonclip conversion really intrigues me. Are the moonclips durable? Thanks.

I have never owned a 9MM. I've shot several but I just didn't like them. Then again I have shot very few auto's that I like.

38 Spec +P, with a 158gr LSWCHP. The reason being my primary handgun right now is my Taurus model 82 and I shoot it better than anything else.

I can relate to this question. My wife is bugging me to buy her a new stove, a new laptop and a new TV( :D ). I told her we'd buy those things after I bought one more gun. Actually the stove comes the same time as the gun. My next gun is PROBABLY going to be a Smith 638 or 642.
