Quick M1 carbine type question. Finally got a "machine gun" (Norrell disconnector lever and all the "parts") which can be installed into any USGI M1 carbine. Not being much of a history buff, I really want to chop the barrel, which I believe I can freely do since, once installed, the trigger...

I know this is a long shot but maybe there's a history buff reading this forum who might recognize the crossed pistol logo on this antique. Came from a naval officer's inkwell. Too early to be a registered trademark in the U.S. (or Great Britain) ...

Interested in load density and I thought I knew but referring to Lee's Modern Reloading (2nd ed) pages 561, listing the 38 Special's useful case capacity as 1.30 cc, and 569, listing teh 38 Special +P's useful case capacity as 1.18 cc, apparently I do not.
I thought the cases were identical...

Cartridge A was flared about .005" with my expander die to reproduce my wackamole's flare which seems about right. Could probably get away with less but my feathers still haven't dried. Bullets (Dardas) seat comfortably, and for A, B, and D were all seated to the top...
