Sorry for the delay, here is the Range report;
Both of these targets were standing off hand at 12 yards, double action slow fire, 3 very different loads, each changed the point of impact. It's a harsh reminder that I really need to practice more. The 158 grain semi wad cutters at moderate magnum...
If anyone is curious;
I can't get Colts wholesale unfortunately. They won't allow them to be sold to home FFLs from wholesale distributors. Colt literally sends reps to prospective shops to give approval to sell their wares.
I suppose I could try, but it would most likely be waisting my...
I have no idea where those grips came from, all I know is I like them! The thumb rest is a nice feature IMO. I bought it used with those already on it, no box or anything else known about it.
Sportsman's Warehouse is already sold out. I'm Going to wait it out for the price to drop below MSRP. Might be a while, but I expect they will be selling for around $1475 in a few months, maybe a year tops. The 2024 blue Pythons I found on gunbroker are exorbitant.
Edit; Spelling!
Psh. 21 oz is a cake walk.😋 Try the J frame scandium/titanium 357 mags. My S&W 360 M&P at 13 oz is punishing. One version of the 340 PD is even lighter than that at 11 oz. The 360 hurts. It hurts worse than any other handgun I own, super ultra magnums included.
I like the look of the...
I've seen pictures of a "DLC" high polished finish that looks very convincing. One example is from Korth/Nighthawk. It really looks nice.

Welp, I have two more revolvers on the imminent purchase list. They'll probably release 5 versions of this one also. And I'll have to get them all. Wilson combat is going to end up making some money off me if Colt hasn't addressed their wobbly sight issue.
I think they were smart releasing the...
I just checked it, it must be the picture. It looks perfectly centered as I am seeing it in person.
I can understand that worry. I had a Smith and Wesson 500 mag, which the hammer was hitting the side, quite severely and causing light primer strikes.
Dave, the last new Colt Python I bought was $1389.
I bought this Henry revolver on gunbroker new for $722, most are for sale close to $800
Please tell me where you are finding sub $800 Pythons. I would like to take advantage of that deal.
The price I paid is right in line with comparable new...
They are pretty close;
Widest Frame width:
Pre Model 17: .821"
Henry: .813
Frame height tall part just behind the barrel:
Pre model 17: 2.314"
Henry: 2.384"
Barrel + ejector height:
Pre model 17: 1.031"
Henry: 1.014
Trigger guard set back from front of frame:
Pre model 17: .825...
Pat, I don't own a model 10 unfortunately. The only K frames I have are a couple old model 17s. I can compare those this afternoon after work if you like.
*I was going to post this in the other thread, but as the post got longer and more detailed I thought it deserved its own thread.
I received my Henry Big Boy Revolver Birdshead model today. Here are the basics;
The DA trigger is heavy, but not gritty. It feels like an average amount of travel...
I thought for a second the S&W 986 might fit the bill for you, but turns out it has a titanium cylinder. Just out of curiosity, why would that feature be such a deal breaker? I have the JM 929 and the thing is sweet.
I came across this high polished stainless steel Ruger Vaquero Birdshead in 45 Colt on gunbroker.
https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1030548906
The price seems outlandish: $2348.00 as of this posting with 39 bids and 5 days left on the auction. I thought it must be special somehow so I read the...
Well I purchased one a couple days ago, it should show up in the mail soon. I wanted to see for myself. No it's not going to be my favorite looking revolver, but I care more about how it handles, feels, and how well I can hit stuff with it.
I have 3 Beretta pistols, one being the 92x. Story;
Years ago a friend let me try out his dad's M9. I was enamored with that pistol, it had an excellent trigger and it was like the gun and I were made for each other. My groups were insanely good, like one hole at 15 yards good. I wanted one. I...
His business practices are definitely dishonest. But I doubt gunbroker will do anything about it. He did give you your money back, I would call it a win and avoid buying anything else from him. It worked out this time but next time you might not be so lucky. Contact the ATF and explain what you...
