So Which Would You Carry? Pick One.

My primary carry stable consists of four of my pistols and my secondary stable adds another three or maybe four. Of my primary carry sidearms, I tend to go mostly with my gen1 M&P 40c, which is one fine piece. It replaced a Glock 30s around six years ago and is one incredible carry gun. I have...

What semi-auto pistol do you shoot best?

With me it is probably going to be a tie between four of my pistols with the first place lead going to my 2011 (gen1) M&P 9 Pro Series. Close behind it is my gen5 and gen4 Glock 19, and my gen3 Glock 23.

Clark Bros Gunshop ... my last visit after ~55 years ...

I've patronized Clark Brothers many times over the years (since around 1970) and have purchased quite a few items from them during that period, too. It is indeed, sad to see a business close up, especially a long standing one in the firearms field. We just recently had a wonderful gun store...

Colin Noir - 7 types of shooters at the range - accurate and funny

Well I have seen a few of those "types" at ranges. Probably the most commons ones over the years have been the safety violation types, perhaps with the talkative types following behind. But I do know what type I am at the range. I go there with a purpose. I don't use conventional targets and I...

How To Keep The Shakes To A Minimum When Aiming?

You should concentrate on gripping your handgun firmly with both hands but more so with your support hand... quite a bit more, as in a 60/40 load share of your grip. You'll be surprised how this simple technique can improve your accuracy and consistency.

The 2nd Amendment protects the right to own Weapons of War, no?

This is true and the reason for this ruling was Jack Miller didn't not show up at court and I don't believe his attorney did either because his client was nowhere to be found. Therefore, there was no knowledgeable person to argue that shotguns were, in fact, useful tools as shoulder arms in the...

    "Knockdown Power"

Technically, there's no such thing as knockdown power for a handgun or a rifle. Do people fall down suddenly when hit with a .308? Yes they do but not from the bullet pushing them down. But when it comes to reality, a solid hit with a .308 is going to be very hard to survive and almost certainly...

    CCW thoughts

You might be first well served to make a list of criteria which you may not have given much thought. For example, older people tend to lose muscle strength, tone, and tension. They also tend to move slower. And then there are the medical problems and conditions, such as joint replacements...

Legality of knives in truck in New Jersey

My thanks to all of you good people for your valuable information. The last thing I want to be is some experiment made into an example for what not to do. Not a good thing.

Legality of knives in truck in New Jersey

Thanks for this. Perhaps I'll leave the Spyderco home as well. I am hearing that vehicles with tinted windows, especially those from the South, can be targeted. My truck has tinted windows, factory down, on its passenger side and rear windows. Since it's factory, I'm hoping that makes the truck...

Legality of knives in truck in New Jersey

Thanks for the info. I'm starting to think my best option may be to leave the K-Bar at home and just keep the folding Spyderco in my console.

Legality of knives in truck in New Jersey

I just posted this on another gun website and thought I'd include it here for y'all's input. I have a question about carrying knives in my truck, not on my person, on a trip to New Jersey. These knives are... A Syderco folding clip-on knife with a 3 3/4" blade. A sheathed Baby K-Bar knife...

    Inspect your EDC...

I never use oil or grease in any of my carry guns because of what you have experienced in your OP. I use a high quality dry lube called Hornady's One Shot. It ranks very high in tests attracts almost no link, dirt, or other debris. Wouldn't use anything else in my carry guns.

CNN sees increase in African American gun ownership

Thank you and you are so correct with this. The term is just another tool used by those who would see us become even more Balkinized.

Really? I can assure you that I am not a "leftie". Far from it.

CNN sees increase in African American gun ownership

Wrong. I have no idea how many African Americans live in Virginia but I would send you $100 if the number exceeded 100,000. Now if you mean black Americans, you might very well be close. But an African American is someone who immigrated for the continent of Africa and became an American...

CNN sees increase in African American gun ownership

I would bet the figure is probably less than one million. I have only known three African Americans in my life. And one of them was white.

    NRA National Firearm Museum

I've been in the area since 1946. I've seen one heck of a lot of change. I remember when Skyline Towers weren't in Bailey's Crossroads but an airport was there. I remember when there was no beltway, no route 66, trolley car tracks in DC and in Roslyn, and not even a Bay Bridge. In other words, I...

CNN sees increase in African American gun ownership

Well since the African American population in this country is very small, as in very, very small, this almost seems to be of little concern.

    NRA National Firearm Museum

If you grew up in Virginia, you are NOT a D.C. native. Please don't confuse the cesspool of D.C. with Virginia. Us Virginia natives don't like anyone to think we're from D.C. Oh and yes, the NRA National Firearms Museum is a fantastic place to visit. You might also consider the Marine's Museum...
