    1940 Winchester 94 .30-30

What do you think the collectors' value of a 1940 win 94 is? The wood is in very good condition, there are some light scratches on the receiver, and one scrape on the barrel. The bluing is very good. There is no rust at all. Thanks for any input.

    Do-it-all barrel

If you had to pick one length of barrel and one choke for all your shotgun needs, what would it be? No choke tubes, just one choke. No extra barrels, just one barrel. I came up with 26" IC.

    Army at 34?

Sorry about the off-topic post, but I value the opinions of THR members above most others on this topic. I'm turning 35 in about a month, and one of my biggest regrets in the last 5 years is that I never served. Having been recently divorced, I now have a chance to give the Army one last...

Are ALL Federal Ranges Open to the Public?

An obscure section of US Code says yes.

    Micro-groove rifling

What year did Marlin start using their micro-groove rifling? I have a 1974 Glenfield 36A and I'm not smart enough to tell the difference by looking, so I'm just wondering... I hear jacketed bullets work better with micro-groove and lead work better with standard rifling. Lovely rifle for...

    Marlin 60 front sight

I just bought a used model 60 sb, it seems to be in fine condition except the orange plastic front sight is all chewed up (the hood is missing). I'd like to get a black steel replacement, maybe with a gold bead, but I don't know the specifications. What size/style dovetail and what height do I...

    1911 reassembly

I detail stripped my Springfield WWII Mil-Spec last night. Getting it apart was easy. Putting it back together was easy, even the disconnect and sear were no problem, until I got to the mainspring housing. I don't have the strongest hands, and pushing it in far enough to pin it was pretty...

    Springer GI

I've finally got my hands on a slightly used (150 rounds previous owner) Springfield GI Gov. Took it out to the farm last Saturday with 100 rds WWB and 50 rds PMC hardball. Using the stock magazine and an 8 rnd McCormick stainless it shot 135 rds perfectly (saved 15 rounds for home). Ejection...

    Carbon-15

Are the Bushmaster Carbon-15 rifles worth $1000 (in your opinion)? I was looking at them and got to thinking: Glock 19 + loaded 15rd. mag. + Bushmaster Carbon-15 97S + loaded 20rd. mag. = About 8 lbs. total! There are a lot of rifles that weigh more than that empty...

    Blueing a GI MilSpec?

I like the look of the original blue 1911s. How much do you think a smith would charge to blast a park'edSpringfield GI and blue it? I guess a lot of the small parts would have to be blued to, and it would all need polishing between the blasting and the blueing. Does anyone foresee any...

    Bersa Thunder .380 Shooting Low

Sorry about YABTTT (Yet Another Bersa Thunder Three-Eighty Thread) :D I'm pretty new to handguns. I recently bought a Bersa .380 and a Glock 19 (both NIB) and went out to my brother-in-law's farm to break them in and see how well I can shoot without training or practice (turns out I can hit...
