There were a few factory four inch round butts such as this factory lettered 19-3 from 1970. Near the end of the 1990s Smith changed all their K frame guns to the round butt configuration. My four inch Model 19-7 is a factory built round butt no lock revolver.
The round butt Model 19-3...
If you have a Glock or 1911 check out the Advantage Arms conversion kits. Mine work great and are accurate to boot. They give you the same sights and trigger as the big caliber gun without the recoil and noise.
I attended Gunsite last year with about a 50/50 mix of glocks and 1911's with a couple of Sigs. Two Glock 17's from different agencies had "magazine problems" with failures to feed and/or eject and a customized 1911 choked when feeding and had to have the extractor adjusted at the Smithy.
Ruger Super Single Six with both 22 & 22 mag cylinders circa 1966 or so. I wanted an auto but my dad nixed it because "it would waste ammo." I still managed to burn up a bunch of 22's anyway.
A while back some one said they used a bunch of golf balls to move and position the safe in the house. They said you could roll it anywhere and into any position you wanted. Has any one tried this?
Ceiner used to make one. I have a kit for my Officer's Model that runs like a champ with quality ammo. Most of the conversion kits have "issues" with economy bulk .22 ammo. I haven't checked the website lately so I can't say if they still offer the kit. The kit is the same one they use for...
If you have enough time it's possible to get a Florida CCW permit even though you are from a different state. If you have a permit in your home state it is fairly easy to meet Florida requirements.
I noticed a few problems with shooters unfamiliar with Safariland I loaders at a recent shoot. While loading, they tried to hold the loader by the little knob ala HKS loaders. The loader could not function properly held this way and several rounds would hang up in the loader and not release...
My son bought one yesterday and we just ran 289 rounds through it without a single malfunction. He stripped and cleaned it last night as per the instruction book and liberally lubed it for the break in. The last 50 rounds were Winchester 115 grain hollowpoint. We had 6 inch groups at 25 yards...
Look for an Advantage Arms .22 conversion for your dad's Glock 23. They cost around $250 and pay for themselves in short order with ammo savings. You can buy 1,000 rounds of .22 for around $25 and become proficient fairly fast and the gun will be fun to shoot. You can move up to the .40...
Ft. Richardson in Alaska provides a close jump point for any N. Korean problem as well as cold weather training and operations site. The timing doesn't seem good at all.
If you plan a lot of pocket carry, a reasonably heavy trigger is not necessarily bad. For holster carry you can spend big bucks and have it tuned by one of the many excellent smiths that specialize in d/a, s/a autos. You can also get some out of the box guns that will fit your needs better...
Some pretty savvy folks that used to live on the plains killed those beasts with little old arrowheads (and sometimes large cliffs, too bad there wasn't a cliff nearby.) Maybe if the shooters only had bows and arrows. It sounds like more than cops were shooting. How do you know who loosed the...
Please just make sure you clean up all your mess and don't shoot anywhere somebody else can see you. It's not a very good image for shooters to have some bubba out there bustin' beer bottles that he presumabably emptied prior to shooting them. I get really tired of cleaning up our range and...
I bid $351 for that piece of crud. But you have to throw in a bunch of ammo to boot. FWIW, I had problems with SIGs, Walthers, Colts, S & W, Steyr, Springfield Armory, and Aimco guns new out of the box. Maybe I am just cursed but I had many guns tweaked by the manufacturers before they were...
General Hirai is a recent arrival. He may have been posted in Alaska previously but I forgot to ask. I never tried a Berretta, but the M4 will have problems at -40 with just about any kind of lube. Running dry in those conditions provides good function but is probably a bit hard on the gun...
