Walther PPS M2, built pretty stout for 9mm only- It was originally slated to come out in 40 but the sudden loss of interest by the buying public forced the cancellation
I just put 50 rds thru my new 20 ga Shockwave last weekend. I was amazed at how well it held tight patterns with buckshot and I was making head shots with slugs on a humanoid target from 25 yds with ease. Use the bead sight and hold it out away from your face!! First time shooting a 20 ga and...
I was getting about 1300 fps with the 17gr lil' gun load when the plating began to shed. I guess I'll back that off to 7.0 gr of PP and see what happens. Same 17gr lil' gun charge registered almost 1400 fps with 158gr coated LSWC on my chrony with no ill effects. Accuracy was nothing special...
Care to share your Power Pistol recipe? Not much data available for PP in 357. I have a few lbs of it for my 40 cal Glock loads and just recently started loading for a S&W 28-2. I can advise that 17.0 gr of LIL' GUN behind a 158 gr Xtreme plated flat point will leave rings of copper plating in...
I have a PT740 Slim and the trigger is awesome. It's about 4 lbs and crisp like a custom 1911. It eats everything I've fed it. I like it so much I sold my G27 and only carry the Slim these days.
The G2 must have a different trigger than the Slim with so many complaining about it.
Glass- wow, beautiful pistol and awesome target. I've never tried a PPQ. How is the trigger compared to a P99AS? I had one of those a long time ago and the single action trigger was the best. Well, way better than my Glocks anyway.
To the OP- the sight radius makes a difference. I'm way more...
Have you tried Hodgdon Longshot with your 10mm?
I averaged about 1510 fps with 135gr Noslers in 40 cal outta my Glock 35 with those. I think it was 11.0 gr of LS, which is well under book max for that bullet.
I don't think they make 10mm at S&W any longer so those pistols are getting quite pricey on Gunbroker. I'm waiting to check out the new Glock model 40 longslide 10mm. Plus it won't be long before Lone Wolf or someone makes 40 cal conversion barrels available.
EAA Witness? I haven't heard...
Hey Burk - I just researched your Lightening Strike trigger and in all of their advertising they claim that it does NOT alter the factory trigger pull weight, it just shortens the length of pull (pre-travel I presume). Maybe somebody swapped some other parts on you? Springs and connector maybe...
Walther P99AS? They have the most amazing trigger of any poly pistol I've ever tried. True, you do have the decocker for a heavy DA first rd option but after that the reset is almost nothing and the SA trigger is really light, mine was about 3 lbs stock. If you are looking for a heavier trigger...
Yup the Taurus TCP rocks.
I'm a Glock fanatic, duty pistol and some for competition. But I just don't see the point of the Glock 42. There's 9mm pistols available that are about the same size. Now if you're really recoil sensitive and need the extra size and weight with the 380 rd then maybe it...
Had a Kel-tec 32 years ago but the rd is rather weak compared to the 380. And it is incredibly expensive here in the SW. Beware of rim-lock in the mags as it is a semi-rimmed cartridge.
My wife was jogging with a NAA .22 mag revolver but she really didn't like shooting it because it's single...
I do a lot of "glocksmithing" and the trick to getting a lighter trigger on a Glock is a combination of aftermarket parts. One of the more critical parts is a lighter striker spring. These should only be used for gun games or range use. You will eventually get light strikes (click but no bang)...
My duty carry Glock 23 has the 3.5 connector and 6 lb trigger spring and I think it's perfect for carry but it's a gen 3. Is your pistol for range use only? Consider the following-
My competition G22 and G35 are getting the trigger bar mod...
Super simple on the XD. In fact I got my inspiration to chop my Steyr on XD Talk as well as GlockTalk. Pistols with removable backstraps present a little more challenge. I saw a chopped Smith M&P and the guy had to use epoxy to glue the backstrap on after the chop. Might be the same for the XDm...
I chopped my Steyr M40 down to take Steyr S40 mags. (12 rds to 10 rds) Can still use the longer mags, just stick out a little.
Before:
and After.
30 minutes with a hacksaw and a file. I've since stippled it for texture.
