    Felon Restoraton

I'll be the difficult libertarian... If a felon is too dangerous to own a gun then they should still be in jail. If they've paid their debt to society then ALL of their rights should be restored - voting and gun rights. I'm no felon so I'm not sure what else they lose...but that's my...

    Crimped primers

Thanks all. Walkalong- I may have to check out that gauge. In the meantime, I'll probably sort based on whether I'm sure there's still a crimp or not.

    Crimped primers

I've got a bunch of range pickup 5.56 brass and I'm having trouble telling if the primer pocket has already been swaged on some of it. Specifically LC brass-some of it has obviously been reamed before: the bevel is clearly visible and I don't feel anything when I stick my Lyman reamer in the...

    Storing Reloads

I like the ammo cans. Harbor freight has the plastic cans on sale for $4.99 a piece right now. I like the smaller size-so they don't get so heavy as a .50 cal can. I picked up 8 more of them yesterday.

owning firearms from a deceased family member? (Illinois THR members please help!)

owning firearms from a deceased family member? (Illinois THR members please h... Where do your folks live? If he's in IL then you're residents of the same state and it shouldn't be an issue (but if any state has odd rules it would be IL). If he's in MO then my best guess is you need to go...

300 blk out for boar ?

I love my .300blk. I'm not an AR guy, until the Brady bunch tries to keep me from having one...then I needed one. Then I needed to hunt with it and I'm a big fan of .30 caliber. The Barnes black tip dropped the biggest hog I'd ever killed in its tracks. I've shot pigs with .30-06 that I...

Dogtown 55gr HPS, how will they do on hogs?

.300 blk kills them just fine. I built my upper with PSA parts and it's my new favorite gun. Now if Barnes will just start selling their black tips to us.

New Harvard study--More Gun Control does not equal less violent crime

Interesting that an old study is suddenly getting media attention from multiple sources. Noted that the authors didn't go to Harvard-one went to yale and the other UC Irvine. They both have fairly impressive resumes. It's not like this came out of el toro or Phoenix university.

    350 Remington Mag Brass

I just received a special order die set from RCBS that is designed for forming .350 RM from 7 mm RM. I also shoot 7mm, and I have a ton of range pickup brass for that. The dies were pricy and took 8-12 weeks or something, but I had enough brass that cam with the gun to tide me over. I got...

    Ordered LNL AP last night

Congrats. I love mine. Priming on the press can be made to work but I've found that I prefer slowing down just a bit. I resize/deprime then hand prime on the couch before running everything through the press for loading. I can't believe I loaded pistol on a single stage before I got my LNL AP.

    Planning out my first AR15.

Jackal: can you enlighten us a bit more? I was at my LGS yesterday and almost picked up a bushmaster for 650. The least expensive PSA I see on their website is $1000. $350 plus FFL transfer fees will buy a lot of ammo... I'm not saying I disagree with your AR brand preferences, just that I...

    223 load experimentation

Those two threads you reference about reusing primers are both talking about straight up reloads with (presumably) known components. Not breaking down factory ammo. As has been stated previously, there is no way to know why that ammo got rejected at the factory. I'm not going to convince you...

    Save money on food?

The theme of these answers seems to mirror the answers we see in the threads asking about saving money by reloading. It can be done, but most of us aren't hunting to save money. Most of us are hunting because we enjoy it - it's a hobby, like golf (as someone else pointed out a few posts back)...

Why we need National CCW Reciprocity now!

Justin - completely agree with you on the hypocrisy of wanting reciprocity for guns but not for marriage licenses or (insert other hot button issue here). I'll leave it at that because I don't think I'm prepared to argue that guns shouldn't require reciprocity (as I think is the intent of...

Why we need National CCW Reciprocity now!

Interesting point - I think you have a valid argument but I take exception on one point: 2nd amendment is in the constitution, but you'll have to refresh me on what the constitution says about marriage. That being said, i don't mean to derail this thread into a marriage argument. I feel for...

    .350 RM Case Forming

I have a Remington 673 Guide Gun in .350 Remington Mag that I really like and I'd really like to shoot more. But I need brass to load! I have looked at: Midway, Natchez, Graf's, Cabelas, Basspro, Cheaperthandirt, Midsouth, Academy, Gander Mountain and several local gunshops and I can't find...

    Progressive Press Opinions

Since you mentioned saving money as a concern, I'll throw this info at you: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=629815 I just bought an LNL AP, but I was looking at the 650 as well. I believe the advice that both are good presses, I just couldn't justify spending the extra couple of...
