I just cannot warm up to the M&P9 trigger pull.

Necro ... I know. But wanted to relate that the most recent M&P I fingered at the GS, an M&P 9C, and not an M&P Pro, had a pretty awesome pull. I asked the guy twice to make sure they were new and unmodified, and he said brand new, from the distributor. The trigger pull and break was simply...

The battle of reliability-G17 vs. P95

Necro ... I know, but someone else may be searching on 9mm reliability one day. I have been researching 9mms lately to add a pair to my 40 cal Glocks (G22s and G23s), and all the research I've done indicates the old Ruger semi-autos are darn near bullet proof. Definitely underrated.

Kahr cw, or Smith &Wesson M&P compact?

I loved my Kahr CW9 and CW40. Thin, light, decent stock trigger, great feel, decent accuracy. I absolutely loved them ... on those rare occasions either one would get thru a range session without choking or breaking completely - all well after the 200 rd break-in. Let your Google Fu guide you...

    Best solvent for Russian Ammo?

Even using corrosive Jugo ammo I still just use CLP on it. Never had an issue. Nothing special required.

    sniper rifle

No, he didn't. That is one of the most ridiculous things I have ever heard. Just about anyone who served US Army combat arms, whether they went to B4 school or not, knows that is utter horse poop. I don't blame you, you don't know what you don't know. But please kick this guy in the nutz for...

    sniper rifle

Having gone to school on the M21 platform I'd recommend something else, in a bolt gun. Even the newest match M1As, while great weapons, are probably not going to shoot as well as an off the shelf heavy barreled Savage 10 with the same ammo. What the OP needs is a base model heavy barreled...

Whats your thoughts on a Draco AK47?

    Some info ... http://www.warriortalk.com/showthread.php?61984-How-I-SBR-d-my-Draco http://www.warriortalk.com/showthread.php?83754-Draco-SBR-the-long-wait-is-over http://www.warriortalk.com/showthread.php?80851-Draco-SBR-Pic-Thread And there's a ton more AK/Draco info there. These are just...

What is the best ak47 for the money

You can buy a Saiga and convert it rather easily, and have an excellent rifle (I've done this) for about $500. Then run through the some items from the upgrade list below for the WASR, because many items apply to the Saiga rifles, as well. The downside to a Saiga is that many aftermarket parts...

    PTR-32, any good?

Everything I have heard or read about it was positive - accuracy, reliable feeding with the right mags, etc., except that it is a heavy b@#$%^. Expensive, too. As much as I want a PTR in .308, in a x39 weapon the money would be better spent on an Arsenal Bulgy build. But that's just mho...

    Long Range Guys in Here....

My man ... what you need is a Savage 10FP or Remington 700 Varmint, a Bushnell 10X fixed scope, a mountain of ammo, and hours upon hours of time behind the trigger with an experienced eye watching over you. You are putting the cart so far in front of the horse I don't know where to begin.

    longe range target rifle

Save yourself a lot of trouble and expense and buy a good heavy-barreled Savage or Remington in 308 to learn both shooting and loading. You can reach the 1000 yard mark with a 308, with the right load and rifle. But you, the shooter, have a lot of work to do before you get to that point...

    AK47

I've shot out to 300 yards with both mine, with optics, of course (my eyes ain't so good no more). With a Nikon 2-7x shotgun scope or a 1-4x SDM scope, 300 yards is very doable once you find the ammo yours likes to eat. Some of the guys on WarriorTalk.com say they've gone to 500 and even 600...

    WASR 10 question

One of mine did the same thing. I had to sand/dremel the receiver end of the forearm so it would fit properly. Where ever you see the Tapco unit touch the receiver, file it down. You may also have to sand/grind down the other end (muzzle end), but I never did that on mine (three AKs with...

Bad Ammo or Gun Doesn't like Heavy's?

Sounds like my recent Saiga adventure. :D I mean EXACTLY the same.

(Accuracy q NOT function) Do some barrels just not like certain ammo?

To wring the most out of any platform reloading/handloading is a must, unless you can afford Federal Gold Medal Match or Black Hills Match or Hornady TAP. I like working up loads for rifles, but hate the drudgery of reloading once I have the barrel and receiver nailed. But alas ... it's that...

(Accuracy q NOT function) Do some barrels just not like certain ammo?

I've been pulling my hair out for two weeks because every bullet and charge and OAL I tried in my S308 turned it into a bullet hose. While Brown Bear FMJ and Silver Bear SPs (yes ... soft points) tightened it right up to the 2" mark every time, closer to 1.5" for the first four. Made...

Bad Ammo or Gun Doesn't like Heavy's?

168gr Amaxes and Match Kings worked best in my Savage. But I have found 155gr work well, too. I've never seen a Savage that wouldn't shoot. You just gotta find that sweet spot with the ammo.

Reloading for Saiga 308, what have you used?

The Saiga is never, ever going to be a precision rifle, and any decent AR in 308 will eat it's lunch. But I always felt it could do better than 3". However, it took me forever to find a load/length/bullet combo that would put me at 2" or better consistently. I've thrown everything at it and...

Sound off if you carry a Glock

2ea. G22s and 2 ea. G23s, all third gen. All run hard in competition and carried daily. I can, and do, trust my life, and the lives of my family on them. I sleep well as a result. If someone builds a better mousetrap I'm on it. But I ain't holding my breath.

    Kahr warranty service...

While I didn't feel comfortable carrying my Kahr CWs and sold both after multiple trips to the factory, I will say that Kahr customer service was second to none. Absolutely stellar in every way. Remington could take CS lessons from them.
