    I have fired both the PPS 9 and 40. The 9mm is a pleasure to shoot but the .40's recoil makes for an unpleasant shooting experience.

    Suggestions for (used) 9mm single stack for range use

    Increase your budget by about $100 and get a S&W 3913. They are a pure joy to shoot and as reliable as anything out there.

    Dan Wesson Revolvers with interchangable barrels

    I own a Dan Wesson Model 15-2VH .357 w/4" barrel that my wife bought for me in 1979. It is one of the most accurate handguns that I own.

    I love the 3rd generation Smith autos. I own a 4506, 3913, and a 4516-1. All are excellent, reliable shooters.

    I have no negative feedback in regard to the 3913. I have been carrying one for over a year as my CCW. It has been 100% reliable 100% of the time.

    Why do I shoot soooo much better with revolvers?

    I have always been able to shoot a revolver,double action, better then a semi auto. Probably because I learned to shoot with revolvers.

    I think that any training or competition that requires you to draw, aim and shoot under timed conditions is helpful.
