    Golden boy ar15

Crazy idea I just had: How about an AR with solid bass receivers? Is the metal too soft?

    Air rifle with adjustable stock

Which pellet rifles are capable of accepting an adjustable stock? And which stocks are available which take at least 4 inches off length of pull? Have a young student of slight build.

    Done stockpiling 22 ammo

For the past three years, I've bought 22 from one Wal-Mart when I saw it in stock. I would use an ammo website and go in before work and it was still hard to score ammo. This was before I owned a 22. I bought a rifle at about one thousand rounds and began shooting. Then I would go in after...

    Reloading 22lr

What are the obstacles to reloading 22lr? 1. Price, at less than 10 cents per round, retail, it's not worth it. 2. Obtaining primer compound (volatile stuff, I've heard) 3. Applying primer compound in the rim. 4. Buying or casting heeled bullets. I think I've got a solution for #3 if you can...

    Question about tubular magazines

I just had a problem with the spring binding up in my 870 and the shells were flopping around loose in the magazine. After I fixed it, I wondered if it would still feed by gravity if I pumped while pointing the gun up, or would the shell be pushed back in by the extractor?

    Remington Golden Bullets quality up?

I just finished a box of 225 Remington Golden Bullets, hollowpoints, in my new Henry. They shot well, no misfires, they seemed consistent. This box was marked "new and improved"

Post a photo of your home range

NOTE: Please don't comment on the safety of a home range based on one or two photos unless there is a obvious violation. For example: my photos show an apparent lack of a backstop, there is a big one, you just can't see it in the photo. -------------------------------------------------...

    Music to my ears

I recently bought a house on ten acres on the edge of a rural area. I was out after Church enjoying the beautiful weather we had on Sunday when I heard gunshots across the hill-it was music to my ears. I'll have a nice shooting range with that hill as my backstop. It's beautiful out here and...

Need a pellet rifle kid friendly

I had a multi pump as a kid and I might go that route, but if I went with a springer or air piston what should I get? Must be a handy size for kids, low effort to cock, low recoil, smooth firing cycle and .177 pellet rifle. I'm currently looking at the Air Venturi Bronco Target model.

    firearms degree

I was thinking how there are some pretty academic subjects firearms touch on, wouldn't it be cool if (at a mythical university) they bundled some of these together into a degree? Anyway, have you ever been inspired to learn any of these subjects because of your interest in firearms? Some...

    Raleigh gun show

I attended the gun show in Raleigh this morning. I was pleased to see everything in stock and prices were "normal" the new normal perhaps, but still normal. Except .22 LR, that was twice what it should cost or more. I saw a S&W AR10 in .308, which I had not seen in person before, that was nice.

    Three S&W BG380 options

When I bought my BG380, I bought a Don Hume pocket holster the same day. This is an excellent holster, but I found that it doesn't conceal as well in some of the pants I wear as I'd like. It is a handsome holster that fits well and is very ruggedly made. It has the hook to catch on your pocket...

    I've released my new book

I thought whoever read this thread: http://www.thehighroad.org/showthread.php?t=652359 might want to see how the cover turned out. My graphics guy made it look like a retro pulp fiction paperback, which is good as the story is set in 1985. You can get it at amazon...

Need photos of Hi-Power or Detective Special

I need a high quality, uncopyrighted photo of a Browning Hi-Power or a Colt Detective Special for the cover of a book I'm writing. This is an ebook that will be on amazon and ibookstore. I can't pay you, but if the royalties exceed $2000 in the first year or so then I'll give you a thank you...

Anybody seen the Angus Barn collection in Raleigh?

Was at the Angus Barn in Raleigh tonight. They have a very nice collection of revolvers, derringers, and some long guns. Here is a small part of the collection.

    A question about downloaded rounds.

I have a forensics question for a book I'm working on. If a round was severely downloaded, would the recovered bullet show some differences in severity of rifling marks that would indicate this? Assume an FMJ rifle round.
